Drum & Bryce

On my travels a few years ago, I visited the really cool red sandstone needle structures of Bryce Canyon for the first time and it was a surreal place.

I remember on the adventure tour bus as we drove over that there was a huge storm on the horizon. We managed to get to a viewpoint overlooking these red stacks of rock whilst the backdrop in the sky was getting ever darker.

As we heard the thunder getting closer, it was time to call it a night and head to the little resort we were staying in.

The next morning though, the storm had passed and we headed back to that viewpoint, with a footpath that led us down in to canyon itself so you could feel so insignificant against these huge structures.

There was one section where you just kept walking down in between the rocks that seemed to get taller and taller and it became weirdly deafening as there was no echo at all, the rocks just absorbed all the sound.

I might have to use some of these sound acoustics for my music studio as they worked a treat haha!

Definitely could have done with them when making this one as I had a great time producing "Talk To Me".

The vocals are from a sound pack that I bought from Audio Animals and they are from Kymberley Myles who is a professional singer. When you buy the sample pack, you have the licence to put them in your original tracks so it made it perfectly into Talk To Me.

In fact, I flipped the verse and the chorus vocal phrases around in my tune which got the nod from Audio Animals themselves.

There is another vocalist called Jenny Jones who did a few recordings with the studio and I will be releasing a tune I made with those vocals in later this year. It's some powerful "ish" I can tell you!

In the meantime, here's Talk To Me, inspired by my trip to Bryce Canyon :)

Very interesting your work of composition and musical montage inspired by that impressive monument of nature. Greetings, @nickyhavey.
