Drum & Bass Disco Delights

Ah yes, the wonders of blending upbeat 1980s disco tunes in with a faster, energetic drum beat and wobbling bassline.

When I was first getting in to the dnb genre, I knew it sampled sounds from various tunes from across the decades but when a decent full track bootleg of one of the older tunes came up in an "unknown mix", that captivated the imagination.

If it's done tastefully of course - there have been some absolutely butchered bootlegs that made me switch off straight away.

It was good to hear ones that were done properly vs the rubbish ones to get a benchmark for when I would eventually get around to opening up the music software years later and trying it for myself.

So for this dnb disco bootleg delight, it's a tune that was actually ripped off by the BBC to give the theme tune to The Really Wild Show, a popular children's TV show that explored the natural world.

The melody was catchy but it was from Tony Sherman's Ellovee-ee Disco classic from the early 80s, which I ended up sampling/using in my bootleg - it's a freebie if anyone likes it enough to download it!
