Last weekend I went for a walk with a long time friend and we started talking about music as she has recently started learning how to play the piano.

It's been fun to talk about as I remember when I first started learning chords on the keyboard, starting from nothing then trying to figure out how to do chords with the left hand, then melodies with the right from sheet music/book lessons.

In the end, I just kinda went my own way and I would struggle to read any sheet music but I guess it gave me a chance to create my own style and melodies, inspired from other tracks that I've heard and trying to recreate them!

So with that in mind, remixes are a pretty cool way to easily learn some of the ropes - you take one of your favourite tunes from the back catalogue, chop it up a bit, play around with drum patterns, bassline and maybe throw a synth or two over the top and you get a remix/bootleg of a 90s one hit wonder!

Here's how that sounds with my take on a track by Monaco called What Do You Want From Me?
