July 16th - Meetup opportunity
I’m putting this out there as an opportunity to meetup on the back of another cool event that’s coming up. 16th July - West End Centre, Aldershot, I’ll be joining up with the ModCaf guys for an open event.
We normally meet every month on the third Thursday of the month but this one will be different as we’re opening the doors to everyone as part of a four day festival at the venue. I would love it if people from Hive came along, you’re more than welcome. I think there’ll be a lot of like minds congregating in one place. There will be performances, demos, the chance for people to have a go on the various pieces of kit.
I’m going to take quite a few things along and create something on the night. That’s the aim anyway.
There’s also a nice bar and lounge there serving soft and alcoholic drinks.
I’d say acoustic instruments are welcome too if you fancy coming along.

Great opportunity. I'm in another part of the country all together so will miss this one, but it looks like enormous fun!
That’s a shame but can understand it would be a bit of a trek for you. I’m sure we’ll meet up at another event in the future. Bedford was great earlier in the year!

Will be great if you can make it. It’s worth mentioning that parking at the venue is very limited, you may find easier to park elsewhere and then walk.

Thanks for that ! Yep, I usually park in the multi-storey car park just off Wellington Avenue. I try to avoid the one next to the old Empire, the spaces seem to be carefully sized for Ford Model T's, I've picked up so many door dents there 🙄

Hi @nicklewis - I've bought the tickets (my wife will be coming along as well). Just a daft thought.... because Hive is wonderful for anonymity, how will we recognise each other ?
Very good point, here’s a recent photo of me. Will be lovely to meet you there and your wife too. We should both do write-ups on Hive.

I haven't got any recent photos at all, sadly - I've realised it's become a bit of a habit to avoid cameras ! But I should be able to recognise you, and if not you'll probably be able to spot us; I'm fairly short, dark haired and somewhat overweight, and my wife is tall, slim and way out of my league 😁
That’s cool but here’s another clue. The kit I’m bringing skiing tonight and a Hive t-shirt worn!
