Found my old guitar!

I’m excited to say I’ve found my old guitar and I’ve plans for it already! I’ve not played in years, so quite keen to re-learn. I could also hook it up to mini fuse AUM etc

I need to re-string it and tune it for which I may use an app to help me nail it!

I had a brilliant guitar teacher when I was around 20 years old, which is quite awhile back, it’s been a minute as the Americans like to say! I learnt for a year or so but stopped when I changed my job at the time, the hours didn’t fit or something along those lines. I often wonder how Andy (the teacher) is doing these days, he also taught my brothers friend who was way better than I was, one of those gifted people who made it look very easy, name a song and he’d just reel it off without much effort. I guess some people are just wired to remember music in a way they can channel it through their finger tips. This is why I’m more at home with sequencers and synths.

The guitar is an Epiphone, so nothing unusual but I purchased it from guitar village in Farnham around the early 90s which is a superb shop. Good news is they are still going, with so many shops of their kind going out of business these days.

I’m keen to give the guitar another go though. First thing as I say is get it up and running, order a few bits and bobbins. I need strings, a lead to plug it in to my audio interface which will then run through AUM on my iPad. Then go from there!

Looks like a nice axe. You could have a lot of fun with it. So many music shops have closed down in the last few years. I know a lot of people buy online, but with some instruments you really want to try before you buy.

I tried out a number of guitars and I think came close to buying another at the time but the epiphone felt more comfortable and was in my budget. I had only recently started in my first proper job at the time, junior programmer!! That’s a crazy thought too.

Nice! I'm sure you get it set up no problem, and playing it will be no problem for you.
Which reminds me, I should get up and play for a bit..
See you later! 😉

I’m going to leave it until Saturday, there are two, maybe three shops in Reading our nearest town, one that has been in business since 1860 and I fancy going in there because stores like it our a rarity these days. So this is a story I’ll pick up on soon. Thanks for stopping by :-) Enjoy your practice session.
