The Song That Holds My Heart
Growing up, music has come to play a very integral role in my life. It’s like the food I eat of the water I drink. Lol. Personally, I’m someone who hangs around very few people. My circle mainly consists of between 3 to 4 people. With this you’d think I’m a quiet person but I’m talkative among my friends.🫢
Over the years things started to change and we all moved to different parts of the country and the world. Now our conversations are on phone calls or social media. Sometimes we are all busy with life we barely talk. All these are reasons why I’ve grown to become addicted to music. For someone who finds it difficult to open up and talk to people about my problems, the only solution is music for me. I don’t know about others but instead of talking about what’s bothering me I’d rather listen to some music and get it off my chest.
This bring us to music. Most people have a specific genre of music they like but I find myself moving from one genre to the other. It’s like I don’t have a balance because what I listen to depends on how my life is going at that point in time. For example, let’s assume I’m going through a hard time. Out of nowhere I’m going to find some song that fits my mood and makes me feel better. I don’t know how that happens though, maybe it’s some sort of magic or something.
Most people go online to look for music but someway somehow all the songs are have are from my friends, from videos or movies. Any song I listen to has a meaning to me. If I heard a particular song from my friend and one day I’m listening to that particular song I instantly start to think of that particular person whom I first heard the song from. I don’t know if this happens to anyone or it’s just me.😅
I’ve listen to a lot of songs but the one song that never gets old to me is titled ‘Safe Inside’ by James Arthur. Over the past year I’ve come to love James Arthur a lot because of his music. I literally have all his songs and I can play them on repeat all day. The song ‘Safe inside’ talks about how you watch your kids grow gradually and you realize at some point you have to leave them to live their own lives and not control them. It also talks about how our parents worry about us when we are away from home but we do not know cos they don’t tell us.

This song speaks a lot about family. How no matter what you do and how bad you act, they still come through for you at the end of the day. I think this song is some sort of advice to we the youth of today about what we do with our lives and how our actions affect us in the long run. Basically, I think he’s trying to send a message to us to listen to elders and learn to take advice from our parents.
If you haven’t listen to any song from James Arthur I highly recommend that you give it a try. I hope you enjoyed reading this. Thank you for time.

Your opinion is relatable.
My mood determines the music I listen to most of the time.
I also love some songs from James Arthur including ‘Save Inside’.

I'm also someone who likes to change genres of song as I go. I've heard a couple James Arthur songs and I like them, though this is my first time listening to this one. I like it.

thinking of how music has shape our lives is just incredible
That’s very true. Music is also a means of communication in some instances.
