My Stress-Relieving Rituals
With the current life that I’m living, there’s no day I’m not stressed out. Most days, I wake up with severe headache and it makes me wonder when my life came to this. Gone were the days when I had nothing to worry about. I’d wake up from sleep, cry, play, eat and sleep. Now, I’m a young adult who needs to take up responsibilities, work hard in order to earn money for a comfortable life.
I love soft life, but soft life doesn’t come easily. I’d rather prefer to work myself out now and live a soft life in a few years time than to live a soft life now and suffer in a few years time. I believe it’s all about planning and how an individual envisions his future. It is only then that you would know what steps to take in your life. Everyday, I have to wake up and show up to work, events and what have you like I’m not already losing my mind.
One funny thing about me is that stress looks good on me physically but mentally, everything is a mess. When I’m stressed out you see me gaining weight and looking fresh which I find to be so unusual. People see me and they be like you’re glowing. All I say in my head is ‘if only they knew’. I don’t think there’s any day you’d see me walking without earphones in my ear. Most people tend to find it to be weird but that’s my major source of relieving stress. There are days I barely have time for myself and I’m so stressed out. In such instances, all I need to do is put my earphones on, play some music and I’d feel a lot better. I’m sure my neighbours hate me at this point because on weekends when I’m not sleeping, I’m jamming to music all day long. I find music to be a great stress reliever for me and it’s my first option when I’m stressed out.
Next would be my bed. No matter what is going on in my life once my body hits the bed, that’s the end of it all. Sleep takes us one step away from our problems and stress but it doesn’t last forever. It’s actually good to have a break from all the drama happening around you and for me, I think sleeping does the work for me. I love to sleep, especially when I’m free but on a normal day, I always make sure to prioritise my sleep because a few hours of sleep can do a lot for the body than one can imagine. We need to rest so that the body can be prepared for the day head.
There’s a long list stuff I could say help me relieve stress but with my current life, I think these two are always my go to. Stress is something we can’t do away with at some point in our lives and it is very important that we find ways and means to manage it and not cause harm to ourselves in one way or the other in the process.

I am thinking of working moms…imagine!
But even for those who are not working moms, stress is there… but atleast you got some things in place. So, you won’t break down.
I have been fat, and actually that was when I was not allright. Now I am thin, and people think I am not allright now. Actually when I am more energised now…
I don’t know why if you find me fat, then its me not good physically. People think happy people are chubby and fat, not true and its not true fatter people eat more, maybe they got digestion issues and harmonal problems.
Also my digestion is better and I eat more and I am thin…not thin but you get it, not fat and have flat tummy.
I like feeling this way… now people have given up enquiring why I am thin now, and if my health is ok?...
Well… some things I do to beat stress, is medidate, stretch, walk and I listen to music… I chat in watsup nothing personal but on topics I am passinate about and I write and do some reading.
Right now, stressed out(: … Not able to make a good article but posting it as it is because taking long time.
You just take measures to keep yourself strong, and connect with good people when free, it helps, I connect with dogs because I don’t have people I can connect too…
Yess… I write journals, do affirmations, mediadate, and eat well and read PG Wodehouse, laugh off and then sleep well… nothing like it!
But I see your life is hectic and that’s how it is…atleast your learning and growing when your young. Although there is no age limit to start something… doing at young age, gives you a edge and yes, you will find the space to have soft life later years…
Its also important to enjoy the work.
Anyway… I too got horrible migrane weeks ago… I never got it… so I don’t want to get that depressed, that your depressed and you have no will to do anything. I was going there, but since I take all those measures to beat stress… well cant be depressed all the time!
I guess, life you have to make difficult choices… challenges, you do that you grow, else you die actually eventually.
But I admire all the working mothers who do so much, managing stress…huge responsibility, I imagine kids themselves cause stress, my cats do… that’s life.
Kids and pets , have us to take care of them completely, if they are upset we get upset… as adults you got to manage it or suck it up yourself and find the way… its freedom in a way, of choice, independence… all good and needed!
I always imagine if I had kids with this my current life and I just know I couldn’t pull it off.😂
People always attribute you being thin to you not eating well. I always have to explain to my family that I’m naturally not fat because anytime we meet they ask if I don’t eat. Funny.
I’m not really a fan of pets and I’m really scared of dogs.😂 Must be nice having dogs.
