Week 215 | I was gifted with a guitar

Hello Hivers. I am here to participate in this week's #weekend-engament topic which is...

Do you play a musical instrument? Tell us about it...

Music has always been my companion. I couldn't survive a day without hearing or listening to music. In fact, singing in a karaoke is my stress reliever. Whenever I get too preoccupied with certain matters, get pressured, or burned out, I sing. It makes me gain back my energy. It is my outlet, in other words.

Singing in the church since I was in second grade has widened my horizons, not just with the type of music I want to listen to, but also with playing musical instruments. I had also joined a song composition with which I wrote the lyrics, my other colleague manned the musical arrangement, and ate Dave (one of my bff's) interpreted the song. It was Hunino, a songwriting composition for Snr. Santo Nino.

Going back to playing a musical instrument, I have learned how to play guitar. I once started playing it way back in college but since I didn't have my own guitar, I stopped learning. Just last year, on my birthday, I was gifted with a new guitar. (I even shared it here.) I once gave up learning to play the guitar for some reason. At the back of my mind, thoughts like you don't have to learn it, just sing and what else do you want to prove? came raging in. But somebody believed in me. Somebody believes that I can learn and play the guitar. I just have to learn it at my own pace. Little by little. One song at a time. And so I did. I have posted some of my videos playing the guitar while singing on one of my social media accounts. And yes, I am still learning.

No one is ever late in learning to play any musical instrument or try things for the very first time. At any age, I think we are capable of learning, of discovering, of experiencing.

This is all for today's participation in weekend engagement topics initiated by sir @galenkp . Until the netswriting.

Yes. It feels rewarding if you can play even one whole song or learn the four major chords.
