A little piece of HiveFest

To think that there are only a few hours left until the end of this weekend that has had a bit of everything, sun, eclipse, rain... as I write these lines, it's raining, and I can smell the pleasant petricor, as well as the water rhythmically pounding outside on the roofs, the walls, the pavements, the leaves on the trees... I close my eyes for a few seconds, I fill myself with all this joy and I'm grateful.

The heat is gone, leaving a slight chill to run through my room, and I can feel it on my bare skin, but mostly on the back of my neck, because I've pulled my hair into a tail. It's pleasant. I have sweated a lot today walking through some of the streets of my city, and although I took a cold shower as soon as I got home, I feel that I have all this hot Sunday in my body. That's why I enjoy that coolness on the back of my neck, as something great, and I stop to observe it, I mean, feel it, I like to enjoy every detail... It also reminds me that my hair is already a bit long and I should go to the hairdresser one of these weekends. I could make this choice to go to the hairdresser whenever I want because my weekends (like Becca-mac's) are mine. Exclusively... when I'm not being sent to a job at Bohemia Magazine.

Well I've already told you about this and I don't consider it a job as such. I always enjoy it to the fullest.

I look at the clock, I like the time, it's 18:18. Oops it just changed. It doesn't matter, it's the present warning of constant change and that every step I take in it is marked by a rhythmic gait of the future. Child, the future is now, I say quietly to myself. I came here to participate in the weekend commitment proposed by Galenkp, and I chose this one from what I've been listening to or reading these two days.

Well, I'll tell you.

I was listening to Sade and Tracy Chapman yesterday (two examples in case you don't know them), when I decided not to go to a book presentation.

It certainly would have been a nice experience to meet my friend, the author, whom I admire a lot and have known for some years. She has a charming smile and whenever we see each other she fills me with a lot of energy. However, I stayed home, enjoying my space. I had done a big cleaning the day before and everything smelled so good... I decided to cook, listening to these two great artists who remind me of a time in my life, quite difficult, and full of challenges.

Listening to them, I reviewed what I had experienced until today, how much I have achieved, and I also thought a little about what I left behind, not as a loss, but as necessary changes, because over time one learns to look at things differently.

In the afternoon when the eclipsed sun went down I decided to plant the gladioli that were waiting for me in a seedbed. At night, before going to sleep, I scolded myself a little for not having gone to that literary event. I think that many times I get the better of laziness because going out on the street with transportation as screwed up as it is is a fucking odyssey.

I put my thoughts in order and told myself several times: tomorrow you can't say buts, you have to go to the meeting with your colleagues from HiveCuba.

Well, that meeting was scheduled in El Cuarto de Tula (Tula's room) and it sounded really interesting. So, this time I forced myself not to miss it. The name of the place refers to a song, if you understand Spanish... you know.

And so it was about 9:30 a.m. this Sunday I was walking down Espada Street in Centro Habana, camera around my neck, catching every light and every shadow that appeared in my path.

When I entered to El cuarto de Tula, which of course it didn't catch fire this time 😁, I found Manuphotos and some Hivers already having breakfast. I arrived starving because I didn't even have a coffee at home to be able to breakfast there with them. I don't want to talk much about this meeting because this truly deserves an extra post.

But the magazine that I have been leafing through, on the way here to my home and that I will probably continue reading on this beautiful night was waiting for me here.

Manuphotos told us that this magazine and these cool Hive pins had been sent to us by Crimsonclad herself. This filled me with a lot of energy and what I read inside the magazine even more.

It's so inspiring to be able to have a little piece of that HiveFest in my hands today! Hive - I have said it - is an important part of my life. Every word, thought or photograph that I have put on my blog is extremely meaningful to me, because it is my little life that goes by and I have decided to share it with my readers. I hope that every time you visit me in my virtual home you can take something good with you.
