Hello, friends of the world. Hello, friends of Hive. Today is Tuesday and as everyone knows, Tuesdays are for good music.
In my usual posts that try to recover the music of the 80's made in my country, Venezuela, I have already talked about several Idols of those years, but there is really only one musician who carries that title on his shoulders. Considered as the “Idol of a generation”, today we will listen to the “musiquito”, the incomparable Guillermo Davila.
It was the 80's and television was part of the families of the world. Parents, grandparents and children would gather around this device that entertained and united them. It is from television, specifically from soap operas, that this boy comes out, antigalan, ungainly, with bulging eyes, frank smile, but with an incredible charisma that would make him stand out among all.
Guillermo Davila is an actor, but also a singer; he was the protagonist of the telenovelas of the moment, but also the interpreter of pieces that spoke of love and heartbreak and that served to make declarations of affection to the ear. Let's remember his music:
Guillermo Dávila is not the best singer in Venezuela, maybe that's why he was nicknamed “Musiquito”, but his charisma made him fill the most important stages of the time, such as the Poliedro, the Mata de coco theater. His fans, basically teenagers, cried and fainted in every concert; that is to say, he raised passions.
The second song, Barco a la deriva, immediately after it is released, becomes the audience's favorite because of its profound lyrics that speak of the consequences of drug use. The metaphor of a boat adrift, without direction, serves to speak of the disorientation, chaos and sinking of a person due to drug use.
And let's end with one of his most controversial pieces. For this song Guillermo Davila faced trial in Venezuela and at one point it was banned from Venezuelan radio stations because it was said to incite rape and cruel acts against women. In the end, Sin pensarlo dos veces is a piece of unbridled, passionate and unbridled love.
I cannot end this post without telling an anecdote from my teenage years. At that time, Guillermo Davila was the boyfriend and platonic love of my older sister and me. At that time he came to our city to give autographs to his fans. Dad took us to the disco store where the autograph signing would take place, but we only had one album and only my sister could hug him and see him up close. I think I spent a month annoyed with her and my dad because he told me I was too small for such an old man. Hahahaha. Anyway, all of Guillermo Davila's music belongs to the soundtrack of my life.
Wuao, que belleza, música de mi época. Recuerdo a Ligia Elena.

It seems your sister was the lucky one. I know now it would not matter, but I am sure little Nancy was very jealous of her big sister! Sending you some telenova hugs!
Hahahahaha. So much so, I still remember that!!! It seemed very unfair to me, but I couldn't do anything about it. I hope you have a great day, Ed. Hug you
I know you can remember it! jaja that is funny. Thanks Nancy, I have just eaten. Today got away from me. Giving you a day hug!
