IndiaUnited Weekly Contest #17: Theme - How safe my country is?
This week @Indiaunited contest question is How safe my country is?
I live in India and almost every person on this planet knows about my Country, but there are many misrepresentations about my Country based on few unpleasant incidents that takes place and hence many western country people think that India is not a safe place to travel. The fact is that India is a very safe place to travel and live. If we consider the unpleasant and criminal instances that happen here then as such it happens in almost every Country. India by population is also a large country so the number of incidents look more here, but if the ratio is considered then it's almost as same as many other Countries of the world.
I live in Mumbai city and I have never been scared to step out of my home at midnight also. There are times when friends call up late night and we plan to meet up. I can safely book a uber and travel or I can even get down and take a normal cab with absolutely nothing to get scared of. My city is safe to travel and move around 24x7. During midnight hours there are cops on every road and hence no one dares to play any mischief. Again protection is always best because there are some monsters in every part of the world and so is it here as well. Mumbai is a very busy city and it is running 24x7 so ideally people do not feel scared here and can move around freely at any hour of the day. Nowadays there are cameras installed in every society and every road so instances of theft have also reduced.
Many tourist come to India and have a pleasant stay but yes there are few instances where tourists get duped and face issues but as I mentioned this happens in almost every part of the world. I have been myself duped couple of times in western countries but with those instances I cannot say that those countries are unsafe. Crooks are there in every part of the world.
India is country where everyone is given a warm welcome and a beautiful experience of this diverse Country.

Well it's good to know that your state ensures your security in all the ways. Issues do happen everywhere but the point is to work on them , only successful minds think to work for the betterment. Good luck for the contest.
True, when we want our Country to progress we need to come together and think alike
Mumbai is one popular place in the world and Iโve heard a lot about it
Iโm glad that it is safe. I have always wished to come there and I will surely visit there someday
I am sure you will visit someday.
I have heard a lot about Mumbai, hopefully I get to visit India soon.
Good luck to that
What an inspiring post! Now I feel like I HAVE to respond to the same question with my home country of Mexico. As you can imagine, it's going to be very similar to yours, but I really feel like it can't be stressed enough: In spite of its horrible reputation, I have never felt unsafe in Mexico, even in the allegedly 'bad parts'. But let me detail all that in my post. For now, I am so glad to see that your description of India suggests the same thing in general: most places are not really unsafe, while at the same time even the safest places can't be 100%.
I see you after a long time. When I hear of Mexico I have the same idea that it is an unsafe place but I am sure it has a different reality and not that every part of the Country is unsafe. There are pockets in every Country where you feel unsafe and some times it is blown out of proportion by the media on certain incidents and then it is permanently labeled as an unsafe place
Exactly, just as you described in your post about India too. Thanks for giving me the inspiration!
It's great to read about the positive side of India ma'am. ๐
Thank you
You're always welcome ma'am. ๐

I agree with you Ma'am @nainaztengra danger or unpleasant instances happen anywhere.
I liked India. I loved Indian movies and I also want to try the foods. There's a lot of beautiful places as well. I liked the countryside and the beach in Goa โฅ๏ธ
India has many many good things to offer, so one should not label it with a few instances
