Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

Around 2 weeks ago Glastonbury was on and I have watched many of the performances that are available and I thought I would share with you a few that I quite liked. I have gone over the allotted 3 this time, but I hope you can forgive me.

But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Glastonbury has got to be one of the biggest music festivals that is held in the UK and usually has quite a good lineup of artists. This year seemed a little disappointing thought tbh, or just music currently isn't so great?

It seems to be more and more mainstream commercialised each year too. This year I did notice quite a more pop feel to many performers and dance acts than would normally be suited to the many dance festivals like Creamfields or similar.

First up was this fun tune from Carly Rae Jepson. It seemed to create a good vibe on the stage.

Sticking with the ladies first, the second tune that caught my attention was this catchy number from Caroline Polachek. She was not on the main stage and it looks like much of the best action was had away from the main stages this year.

With headliners like Elton John and Goldie, I would have also sought out something else to listen to. Alison Goldfrapp who I am a fan of and who has had some great performances at Glastonbury in the past also did not disappoint and was looking pretty fresh here too.

Chvrches was another performer on the main stage who performed well but was wearing a bizarre costumer that was like from the film Carrie? She looked very bizarre and I was not really sure what to make of that.

There was quite a bit of guitar work to be seen at this years Glasto. There was the excellent performance by Lost Bitchos that I quite enjoyed. All through the tune though I was waiting and expecting someone to start singing at any point, but it never came.

The ladies looked like they were having fun though and the vibe was really great. Away from the main stage, The Big Moon were not to be outdone with a great performance and lots of guitar work and some singing to boot. The crowd certainly looked like they were enjoying it and maybe we will see them on the main stage next year.

Probably a highlight of Glasto this year was the performance by Sparks and some very weird dancing by none other than Cate Blanchett. Wearing a bright orange suit she was jumping around, or more convulating and waving her hands around.

I am not quite sure what it was all about but it made for an interesting backdrop to the song. I think the crowd were also frozen and wondering what they were watching.

This years Glastonbury was probably the most dancey that I remember seeing for sometime as there were many pop and dance type tunes. A particularly great nighttime performance was by Kelis with Acapella.

In a similar vain, I was suprised to see Fatboy Slim performing with Rita Ora the Praise You song. Another Poppy-dance type tune that you maybe wouldn't expect to see at Glastonbury on the main stage. The DJ from Brighton wasn't the only DJ set that I saw as there was also a much loved performance from Fred Again.

A very fun performance was by The Lightning Seeds who have featured on a recent ttt post. This was their Life of Riley song which is both a football anthem and a song that he wrote for his son.

His son (Riley) now plays the rhythm guitar in the band and you can see him smiling as his Dad and the crowd sing a song dedicated to him. Such powerful lyrics, "Here's your life... find your way".

Next up is a band you would more expect to find at Glastonbury and they did not disappoint. The crowd certainly seemed to enjoy the performance. Probably one of the best performances of 2023 I think.

That's my wrap-up of Glastonbury and I hope it gives you a flavor of the festival. I didn't watch all the acts yet, such as Rick Astley. I saw he was headlining but I orignally thought just as intermission music, but he was actually headlining. I didn't expect to see that.

The winner from last week's 5 LEN token giveaway was @palomap3 Congratulations!
