ThreeTuneTuesday - The Beatles

Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

After the top 3 Bond tunes last week, we stay with a British theme today with a trip back down penny memory lane with The Beatles.

Therefore, this week I have been listening to many of the songs from The Beatles so that I could try and narrow down 3 of my favorites to share with you. It is a tough life, I know!

But first the results of the 200 FUN token giveaway from last week was @ironshield who likes his martini (not martin) gently stirred and not shaken.

The second giveaway was for 100 MUSIC tokens that I ran on twitter and was a cropped picture of the band for today if anyone could guess it. We had just 1 entry and that was @oceanbee.

There is another giveaway this week, more details below.

The first song that made it into my top 3 was We Can Work It Out. I think this song has some more meaning to it that some of their other earlier tunes.

The second choice is Don't Let Me Down that has a memorable rift and is really catchy. Although there aren't many lyrics in this song, it is one that really stands out for me and of course it is a powerful love song. Lennon and McCartney seemed to work well together.

The third song for today is Something and was written over 50 years ago! It is another love song by The Beatles. In the video, the guys are much older and you get the feeling as though it is a song about the end of the group and gives you a little sad feeling inside.

With such an extensive amount of songs, I had to include a bonus track.

For me that track is In My Life. I think it is another deep song that is good for reflecting on some relationships you have had in your life.

My selection was not some of their more party songs or wild ones although I do like Eleanor Rigby and Strawberry Fields Forever. I think their love songs are probably some of the best ones ever written.

Thanks for the FUN tokens! I "stirred" them into a diesel pool. My favorite Beatles song is "Penny Lane" once it gets in my head, it can take months. Oh no, not again!

😅 Sorry about Penny Lane. I loved those old green buses on the penny lane video when I was younger. I collected lots of memorabilia that I wish I had kept until now.

That is probably one of the first ones that I remember from my youth. I think the Beatles can grow on you over time.

Ahan, Noice one's tho that last one isn't available like it's saying "video not available" I wonder why..to be honest haven't got to hear Beatles song before.. it sounds really cool that "something" one gotta be my fav!

Awesome stuff. I think Rubber Soul and Revolver are two of my favorite Beatles albums. Help and Let it Be would probably come in at a close second. I have a book at home that is called "A Hard Days Write" it is the background story on every Beatles song. It's pretty cool.

Those are some good albums. I couldnt say which would be my favorite album, but might need to play through and decide. lol

That sounds like an interesting book, I hope it is the paperback (writer) copy!

Congratulations to the giveaway winners, @oceanbee and @ironshield! My favorite Beatles song is Twist and Shout. I know it's not originally theirs. But it always makes me think of the scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off when he is on the float in the parade.

The Beatles were such legends! There was a time when I knew the lyrics of the blue and red albums and sang along to them. I can't possibly name just one favorite, sorry, I'll have to pass on your giveaway today.

These are some fun songs. It's neat to see how their music changed from their early years to their later. They definitely grew as musicians.

You can really see the development. In the last video, they filmed separately, I wonder if they were even talking to each other.

Very true. By the end, John and Paul were quite tired of each other's company, to put it mildly. It's nice that they were able to work beyond that long enough to have a proper send off.

I love the beatles - one of my fav bands. The bass line Paul plays in the second verse of dont let me down is just awesome - fantastic musicians, all of them ! I shudder to think how many times I might have listened to Sgt Peppers - I just love that album !

Ah the Beatles, I have heard every song they ever penned and some many many many times, but I never tire of them, they were and are just at another level, I really enjoyed the three that you shared, the emotion in the live performance of Don't Let Me Down sends a shiver down my spine, amazing stuff.

My favourite Beatles song is, although it might be a different one tomorrow!
