ThreeTuneTuesday - Pet Shop Boys

Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

This week we go back to the 80s and listen to a popular group who made some huge hits at the time.

But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.

These guys are like huge icons from the 80s and probably everybody knows their tunes. That makes it difficult to pick out 3 stand out tunes, however, I will give it a go!

Probably one of their most famous tunes is Suburbia and it seems to always get the crowd excited. One of my favorite tours of theirs is the Cubism tour, in 2006 or 2007. I think the Mexican performance was recorded and you can watch it on youtube. I quite like the performance of Suburbia they did there.

This is still one of my favorite songs by Neil and Chris.

My next tune is hard to decide as they have a good catalog of tunes that you can choose from. In the end I have was back and forth with Left To My Own Devices, but in the end I think What Have I Done To Deserve This is the cheesy 80s pop-synth that we are used to from the boys.

If you are not a fan of the 80s, then probably it is not good for your ears, but for 80s fans, PSB are great!

The final tune was another hard to choose as PSB have such a big catalog of hits and you could easily slot in any number of their tunes. In the end I have gone for Heart with its iconic beat and great 80s vibe.

This week I have a bonus track. As someone in the youtube comments asserted, this is one of the best non-PSB songs that the PSB should have written. 😀

It was also released in the 90s but has that PSB feel to it.

That's it for this week, in the meantime there were quite a few big festivals on at the weekend that took up plenty of my time. The great thing is that many are now live streamed so you can enjoy them with out all the hassle of finding toilets and dealing with large crowds.

The winner from last week's 5 LEN token giveaway was @bozz. Congratulations!

Last year I'd hear It's a Sin and West End Girls for the first time after Youtube Music took me on an 80s music journey and I was impressed. I should give Pet Shop Boys projects a listen.

The Pet Shop Boys were always good in my book. Love the lead singers voice. Kind of had to keep it a secret as you would have been labeled gay if it came out I liked them but I don't care now.

LOL Yeah, it was a sin to admit you liked them when you were younger. 😀
