Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

This week we go back to the 1980's when I was still in single digits and life looked so much easier and less tyranical as it does now. Or is that just a part of growing up?!

I first stumbled across Huey Lewis and the News with their hit song Power of Love from the Back to the Future films. Boy did I love that film as a kid with the time travel and hoverboard.

Huey Lewis has this 80s vibe and typical wholeseome American feel to it. A time before tattoos, piercing and excessive nudity became so commonplace. Although I originally love the Power of Love song the most at the beginning, I really think Back in Time is underrated and a favorite of mine.

Another catchy tune that the band sang was Stuck with You. As a young teenager, the thoughts of escaping to a desert island with a hot model sounded like a dream come true!

Perhaps it is the inner-romantic in me, but Stuck with you is another favorite of mine.

The final song this week is the fast and catchy Hip to be Square. The song made famous by Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. There was a hilarioius parady by Weird Al which was great that Huey took part in it.

It seems since the 80s there has been a trend to make being geeky cool and trendy and maybe Huey was the start of this trend?

The past really had great tunes with so much quality. Sometimes I am just drawn to listen to some old Nigerian music and they have this great feeling.

IMHO Huey is the greatest male vocalist of his generation. I saw him live in Saskatoon just a couple of years ago but I think his voice had deteriorated by then.

Songs from the past have this great meaning and beautiful tunes. I love those songs too because of how I felt with listening to most of them especially Nigerian oldies songs.

Woah I wasn't even born for these songs xD. Are these old enough to be considered classics. Anyways definitely interesting to see how music has evolved from this until now. There's definitely huge difference between natural voice and now which I think mostly autotuned for almost every song~ Thanks for visiting me had to visit you back. I've actually been busy all day so wasn't able to comment much on posts today!

The base of those music sounds very good to me specially the first and the third ones. I think I was focusing on listening base more than listening songs.

Great tunes this week Steve! I remember all of them, as I grew up in the 80s too! They bring back lots of memories! I loved the Back to the Future movies too! I think my favorite has to be Power of Love! I'll always be a romantic at heart! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

I love this band! I have very good memories associated with the movie Back to the Future, so everything that has to do with this movie is pleasant for me. And one of the most beautiful songs that exist, in my opinion, is The Power of Love, really, I really liked your #ttt

Haha, you know, I was actually humming Hip to be Square just last week. It's really a shame that Huey ended up suffering hearing problems, but it's cool that they were able to put out an album in 2020.

Yep, life was definitely a lot simpler and less complicated back then and no bills to pay and worries were limited to would it rain tomorrow and will I get some sweets at the shop?

Is this a Three Tune Tuesday first for Huey Lewis & The News, I think it might be.... Good shout, that was enjoyable!
