ThreeTuneTuesday - Catatonia

Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

This week we go back in time to the 90s and the picturesque country of Wales. The alternative Rock band as they have been labelled are called Catatonia and have a few decent hits that I have been playing recently.

But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The first song is probably one of their most memorable and really made me think of the song when I saw the Scully was playing the Iron Lady in the TV series The Crown.

Her acting and characterisation is pretty good although it was such a surprise to see her playing her. When I think of Dana Scully, it brings me back to the song by Catatonia. I watched quite a bit of the XFiles when I was younger and it seemed to make the whole aliens and ufos thing quite mysterious.

Catatonia are not only known for this one song though. They were quite iconic in the 90s I think and had a few decent hits. The voice of Cerys Matthews is pretty great and gives a unique sound.

One of the band's most popular hits was Road Rage and captures that 90s sound so well.

The final tune is for sure my favorite with such a great sound and lyrics. The talent of Cerys is really shown here. Probably the lyrics are quite relevant today as they were back then Make hay not war. The televised Iraq War from the 90s and today the conflict with Russia. Sadly not enough voices call for an end to the war.

It is a slower tune but I think definetly an under-rated gem.
