T - Rex (TTT)

Hello Hive Music Lovers!,

Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.

This week we go back in time and listen to some classics that have managed to stand the test of time.

But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote @ablaze :

The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.

Recently I have been listening to a few T-Rex songs and thought I would share my favorite 3 on Tuesday. The first one is probably the most well known one and maybe gets people in the mood at protests and feeling abit rebellious.

I guess like every generation, they feel rebellious and want to change things from how their parents generation lived. Even in my lifetime things were still quite formal and have moved to a more relaxed way of living in nearly every area.

This tune also sounds similar to their other popular track Telegram Sam, which is worth for sure to listen to.

Next up, it was hard to choose my second track but I think it must be the unforgettable Bang A Gong - Get It On. Another memorable track that for some reason I don't associate with bongs too much, but maybe I should?

Today I share with you a great live performance that is much more raw than the studio recording that you might be used to. This track must have been used in countless movie scenes that I can remember, it is so iconic.

Trying to top those two tracks would not be possible they are so great, but the third track and final track for today I would say is another great iconic release and deserves to be in the top 3 T-Rex tunes for me is Hot Love.

This tune is truly fabulous and has stood the test of time.

That's my tunes for today.

The winner from last week's 5 LEN token giveaway was @blanchy. I think he is hearing Bitcoin in every song these days, a true Bitcoiner. Congratulations!

GIVEAWAY - WIN 5 LEN TOKENS

For a chance to win 5 LEN tokens, all you need to do is write in the comments your favorite song from T-Rex (if any). The winner will be drawn randomly and announced in the next post.

Happy musical Tuesday everyone, thanks for listening.

I think I only know two T-REX songs. Bang a Gong is definitely one of them. I don't know if I could even tell you the other one. I just feel like I at least know a couple of them. That being said, I really should dig into them a little more. I know they have some classic stuff.

Once someone have said it is necessary to create one song known to everyone - for the group can be considered great. In case with T Rex it was 'Get it On' and 'Telegraf Sam'... !BEER

They for sure have a few tracks you would recognise instantly. They really were smashing it in their time. Shame that Marc left us so early.

For the first one (Children Of The Revolution).. gig the way the drummer bangs the drums looool.. feels very authentic for some reason.

For the second one (Bang a Gong).. I actually think I do recognize the tune from somewhere.. probs in a movie scene like you mention in your post.

Hot Love.. seems to have very different beat to the others.. feels more 'loungy'..

Thanks @mypathtofire for sharing an era seemingly lost in time. I'm actually on a similar mission in a way. Not with music, but rather writing inspired by literary gems that have also stood the test of time. Would be awesome if you had a look.. better if you became a 'follower' loooool, as I plan on sharing some thought provoking inspired original content over time.. I certainly could use the support while I try and make a name for myself in this space too.

Anyway, I've 'followed' your PeakD, so intend to also keep an eye open for more things you post as well. Cheers mate.

Thanks for checking them out, they do take you back on a journey.

I will look out for your posts, that will be interesting to see what literary gems you manage to uncover.

You right there mate.. music makes the world so much more special imo. Was just on a journey now myself listening to some piano covers of Alan Walker. You know of him? Any specific genre's of music that interest you? .. or are you open to listening to most music?

I appreciate you 'following' me too - thanks mate. At the moment, I'm basically writing some thought provoking nuggets inspired by select adages/sayings/proverbs/aphorisms etc. which I have come across in an ancient work from scouring the depths of a digital archive. I've done a few so far, but plan to share plenty more original content, so I'm grateful for any potential support for a newbie to the space like me. Your support means a lot, thank you.

I am opening to all types of music and have listened to Alan Walker before too.

Good luck on your writing journey, did you use Dreemport before? There are many great writers there and they are also on Hive. https://dreemport.com/

Also the Scholar and Scribe community is very good.

Bang! You did it again 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
TRex is one of my very fave bands from 70-es.
And I am happy to see which tracks you've selected to present this great band (which at some point of their carea was as big as Bowie... but Bowie quickly went supernova and spurted forward..)
'Children of Revolution', 'Hot love' are my absolute faves and my soul start trembling immediately every time I hear the songs. They did stood the test of time. But it will be an impossible thing for me to choose 3 best tracks, I have so much more!
Much easier would be to point at the certain albums: 'Songs of love and death' (not a legit T.Rex album, recordings remastered and released in 80-es, but still). Tanx /Electric Warrior / Dandy in the Underworld. This if my pick.
'Cat black', 'You Scare Me to Death', 'Eastern Spell', 'The soul of my suit', 'Jason B. Sad', 'Tame My Tiger', 'Life is a gas' ... Great heritage. Now they dont make it like that anymore. I used to to listen to this bright and happy music in Spring. But my life is not so bright during the last years, so I prefer not to switch it on at all, pretty sadly. 🙄

Glad I found one of your faves. The tracks are somehow legendary. I need to check out your album picks, that would be a good afternoon of music.

I hope things pick up for you again and you decide to play some more.

😕 Maybe this broken world repair itself? How much are the chances?..

Do listen to 'Love and death', by Bolan (1967), if you missed it.

As the tides eb and flow, I presume we will start trending in a better direction than currently.

I am listening to the album now, I dont think I took the time to listen to it all the way through before. :)

Bang a Gong is a cool song! That's why Robert Palmer and The Power Station covered it in the 80's. Thanks for sharing, haven't heard T Rex in a long time!

so why are they called the Trex :P. man it's like so back in the past the hair and everything. I actually thought the guy in the red was a woman in the 2nd video xD. if had to choose one of the three songs, I think i would choose the children of the revolution as the best

Oh that is a great selection. And I !Luv the music. 😁
I guess I am mainstream (yes, aware the irony that's gonna follow now) when I say my favorite one is "Children of the revolution".

Keep on rocking. 🤘

Marc Bolan was a great musician, it's a pity he died so young. I would add Telegram Sam as a bonus.

He had an amazing talent. Telegram Sam is another classic.

What an excellent find!

The combination of guitar playing with satin costumes and glitter eyeshadows always brings a smile to my face.

I like this one:)

Marc Bolan an early and untimely death, music of my youth, difficult to pick just three of their best tracks. Shame you can't have five! Telegram Sam yup, and Ride a white swan, classic stuff.

Those are 2 further great tunes. He left us too early for sure and had an amazing talent. The videos show just how much fun they were having with their music too.

I think to myself, Hmmmm T Rex, I don't think I know these guys... Then I listen to the tunes, and know them all, just did not know they were T Rex tunes, quality stuff! Really enjoyed the tunes.
