This is my sound rack

Music has always been part of my life, not precisely because I have studied it or because I come from a musical family, but because the simple fact of listening to music enchants me. I still remember the first stereo system we had at home, it was a Pionner with double cassette player and radio that worked very well for a long time, I remember that I used to buy blank cassettes to record songs from the radio that I liked, sometimes I had to wait a long time, but it was worth it. After a while the first sound system arrived to which we could put CDs, that for me was like having a spaceship, the brand of that one was AIWA.

But as we all know, in the late 90's and early 2000's music devices evolved quite fast and sooner rather than later there were sound systems with up to 25 CD capacity and with additional functions, a real madness. So I was always on the lookout for the best possible upgrades to be able to listen to music with the highest possible quality, but at a certain point what I wanted was not so cheap.

So, in a relatively good economic time for me, I decided to invest in musical devices that would allow me to listen to music at the highest possible quality level, of course I did not buy the best that was on the market, but believe me that what I will show you in the following photos has its good level. In this rack made by a good friend I installed a sound equalizer, an audio compressor and of course the audio amplifier that would give life to the sound.

As you could see, the three elements are from the German brand Behringer, at that time and until now it was known as a good brand, obviously there are others that are better, but budgets were not so high.

Equalizer

The first thing I will detail is the Behringer Ultragraph Pro fbq1502 Equalizer, it has 15 bands that allow you to equalize bass, mids and highs with a quite remarkable sensitivity. This was undoubtedly a great leap for me since I had never had a sound system that could equalize with so much depth.

Compressor

Next, you will see the Behringer Composer Pro-XL MDX2600 Audio Compressor, and well, that was new to me since I bought it without any idea of how to use it. In a device that, among other things, allows you to eliminate ground noise, limit high sound peaks and modify certain spectrums that the equalizer does not allow you to do, believe me it is very beneficial to have one.

Audio amplifier

But since I also needed to amplify the audio somehow, I bought the Behringer Europower EPQ1200 audio amplifier which gives me 425 Watts per channel which was more than enough for the speakers I was building at the time. This amp has the ATR technology which gives a much clearer sound.

Speakers

None of the above would make sense if we don't have good speakers, so at that time a carpenter friend and electronics expert suggested me to build my own speakers. I bought the wood, carpet and other materials for the speaker cabinet. I also bought two 400W Peavey Pro 12 (12 inches) woofers, two Peavey Rx14 drivers and two JBL passive crossovers. From all that I mentioned before, I got the two speakers you will see below.

So in my day to day I listen to music with pleasure and with good quality, in fact, the power that these devices throw is well above what I need, I would get into trouble with my neighbors if I demand the maximum power to the audio amplifier. I recently had it serviced and cleaned since it had not been used for about 6 years, I really missed my sound rack. It was a pleasure to share this with you, a big hug!

I consider that this compressor does a very good job, although I must admit that I do not know how to use it 100%. Thanks for your support!
