3 songs with live collaborations that I love
Musical collaborations have become very fashionable in recent years. While it is true that sometimes they are a mistake and can go pretty wrong because they look forced and meaningless, there are other opportunities in which they look organic and natural, especially if there is an excellent song behind them. I in particular am not against artists agreeing to make songs together, in fact, I think we have seen many successes derived from these collaborations and no doubt these songs will remain in time.
Those who already know me know that I am a fan of rock music and Japanese anime, that has made the algorithm show me suggestions in which both elements are intertwined and that is basically in the famous opening or opening/closing themes of anime. Of course, the collaborations not only occur in anime songs, so I will also show you others that so far this year I have been hearing very often, some are well known and others not so well known. Something that I must emphasize is that the 3 songs that I will show you are recorded live.
I'm going to start with the one I recently discovered. Electric Callboy is an Electronicore band while BABYMETAL is a Japanese Alternative Metal band, or that's how I perceive them. Both bands came together despite the differences in their musical genres and created "RATATATA", a song that is full of a lot of energy and good rhythm that inevitably gets everyone jumping. The video you will see below was recorded at a festival called "Resurrection Fest", there you can see what I'm talking about, it's a marvel.
Speaking directly of Japan, the video you will see below is a live performance of the opening of season 3 of the famous anime "Kimetsu no Yaiba". I got to know this song precisely thanks to the mentioned anime of which I am a big fan, it stayed in my mind and now I always listen to it. What stands out of this song is the synergy that the band MAN WITH A MISSION maintains, with their particular masks that perfectly distinguish them from other bands and the singer Milet. Undoubtedly they knew how to put together something epic, with musical elements of Japanese culture that perfectly fit with anime. Seeing this song live should be a delight.
Last but not least, I was very happy to see that Mike Shinoda, famous singer and guitarist of the band Linkin Park, joined the band Sum 41 to perform "Faint", a song that marked a generation, as well as many others composed by Linkin Park. It is no secret to anyone how important and iconic these two bands are, I grew up listening to them and in that sense for me they are references. Something that stands out from this presentation is that Sum 41 kept their style intact at all times, but managed to fully respect the essence of a very important song. It was a surprise to see this video, don't miss it.
