Happy new week to this amazing community and the judges @lordbutterfly @verbal-d @silentscreamer. Congratulations to the past winners and all the nominees, it only gets better.
For this week I chose to do a song from one of my absolute faves; Nina Simone, titled Don’t let me be misunderstood. Don’t let me be misunderstood was the very first song I heard of hers and I was immediately captivated. I went straight to business scoring the song, reading about her, watching her past interviews and just getting to love her more.
Don’t let me be misunderstood is a very deep song as it touches on sensitive themes such as HUMAN IMPERFECTIONS, She admits to not always acting right but stresses that mistakes don’t define her true character. Which is very true and relatable.
DESIRE FOR COMPARISON:The song is a request for patience and understanding from others. Everyone longs to be loved and truly understood.
Inner goodness versus outer flaws,
Loneliness in misunderstanding and being misjudged. The list goes on!
As a young secondary school boy back then, finding this song was very special to me as it came at a point where it felt like I was screaming and no one could hear me.
