The Ghost Of You - My Chemical Romance (Vintage 1944 Style Cover) ft. Effie Passero

I love Post Modern Jukebox but I'm seriously I was kinda nervous when I saw they were doing not just an MCR song but Ghost of You. It was such a deep song and so so powerful but she did it so BEAUTIFULLY not just honoring the song but most importantly and most stunningly capturing the pain My Chemical Romance wrote and sang to be heard in the first place. This was an absolute masterpiece. Now in an analysis :

When My Chemical Romance released ‘The Ghost of You’ from their seminal second album, ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’, it resonated with a raw nerve of collective consciousness. This was not merely a rock ballad; this was a poignant narrative veiled in metaphoric lyricism that tapped into the core of human grief and love. In the intricate weave of its melody and words, ‘The Ghost of You’ holds a mirror to the ephemeral nature of life and the shattering permanence of loss. It's the lyrical dance with death and attachment perfectly portrayed in this vintage 1944 version, her voice stretches to our ears like a cry pleading this to not be happening.

be quiet and drive (far away) deftones acoustic cover by Ursula

be quiet and drive cover

this is one of those songs which makes you want to be taken away cause you barely have energy to leave on your own. to leave it all behind going to a nameless location. it sounds like a wholesome memory and also some sad truth you have to face. So In the frenetic landscape of late ’90s alternative metal, Deftones carved out a niche that blended aggression with a certain introspective melancholy. Among their arsenal of adrenaline and angst-laden tracks, ‘Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)’ stands out as not just a song but an emotional expedition. Crafted with the enigmatic allure that characterizes much of the band’s work, this track takes listeners on a journey that transcends the sonic waves it rides on.

It’s a manifesto for mental liberation. The message is one of urgency and desperation, a visceral need to break away from the suffocating grip of one’s surroundings. And the her in the songs speak not about romance but loss of identity, the "you in her clothes", of how much pretending changes one to something unknown. I like the acoustic cover of this girl cause she manages to play beautifully the core sounds the roughness of the song want to present, her tired voice e and face with low quality video takes you back to the time it was created. It's an honest heartfelt representation.
