True mentorship can help you discover your purpose

Most times people believe that before anyone can make it in life they will need to pass through a mentor but it is not always the case. I figured out that many people in this world today don't necessarily need to be sticking around with someone just to learn or copy their ways of life. I discovered that human beings are born unique, everyone born differently with a different gift. Not everyone must have to serve under someone or be mentored before they become what they were destined to be. I figured out that without being mentored some can still reach their destination in life and still do very well sometimes even more than those who were mentored. Another thing I discovered is that some among those who didn't go through any form of mentorship can still arrive at their destination but sometimes being roughed up because of their personal experiences on the road to destiny.

The reason for this is because there is no one out there or one by the side who knows the road they can ask for clear directions. One thing is knowing the road, another thing is being directed by someone experienced who had been through that road to give you detailed information of where to get to and stop, where to make a U-turn, where to divert etc.
Through mentorship many people have been able to smoothly pass through difficult times, difficult terrains and temptations and challenges that come everyday even in the place of work, at homes, church, with friends and even in their personal life.
In today's world there are millions of people suffering from depression and even many more are on the verge of committing suicide if their is no way out from what is eating them up.

I believe that mentorship is very important in today's society where there is little to no morals left. One of the things that makes people refrain from taking their own life is religion. This especially has to do with those whose religion condemns taking one owns life in the form of suicide with promising punishment in the afterlife. Sometimes people speak of the evil that comes with religion but I feel the issue people have with religion should be the diversity between one religion to another, especially in a scenario where one for instance worships a cobra as their god while the other eats cobra as meat. Meanwhile the one who worships cobra as their god may believe that If they kill cobras they may face a certain terrible consequence and truly if they do it a certain consequence may come which may be ugly but to the other who was even born into eating those, has no consequence and everything sounds like a joke and even superstitious the person can even mock.

Mentorship is good because it helps us free ourselves from the shackles we've bound ourselves with or even the chains our community has entangled us with.
Many times I found myself in the midst of those who clearly spoke against Christianity in my region. As for me I don't like arguing and in fact I don't have the time but I have a relative very close to me who always loves bringing the same topic of discussion up at any time, especially those moments when he sees I'm free and just outside to relax and receive fresh air. I don't know how it always happens but no matter the topic of discussion we started with, we will definitely end up somehow arguing about the same thing of religion.

To me I always make it clear for him to know that those who brought Christianity in my religion did any even better thing because they brought light. Now you reading this I may not know your location or your place of birth but I know from the knowledge of where I was born and how things were during the time of my forefathers before Christianity came that it was hell and terrible atrocities were committed and that has always been my basis because I believe every tribe, every nation and continent has what they are known for.
One must not expect for another man's favorite food to be his own food and it is foolish to say to another person why you are not eating my favorite food, now I command you to eat it.
Things are not done in that way instead, it is wiser to point out the differences and importance from throwing a little light on what is right and what is wrong, one may be able to consider the differences and anyone can be willing to choose something new that appears better than what he's been into without knowing why and never seeing the light.

In conclusion, mentorships saves us from a lot of metal stress and helps us avoid the mistakes of early people who had been through the phase of life that we find ourselves in. Mentorships help motivate and encourage one positively to know that no matter what they can still be that which they desire. Just like the sentence “Age is just a number” this are the kind of words that could be birthed through a good mentor. With good mentorship one could escape the temptation of suicide in today's world where nothing seems to be getting better. Lastly it's good to try not to impose our beliefs on someone else forcefully but allow people make their decisions after pointing out whatever good and bad that needs to be said because life is all about choices.

Thank you very much for reading.

I completely agree with you @moondial, while mentorship is good, it cannot be considered the only means to make it in life. I prefer to live that allows me to learn from everyone around me. With this kind of lifestyle, I am able to acquire which ever knowledge from whomever. It is more like anyone can be a mentor to me

That was a deep read with much food for thought. There is a place for mentorship in life, and it is much needed. It is also necessary for us to use the principles of light and mentor ourselves in them so that we can become mentors to others in need. I am a Christian, and I tell you that I would be no good to anyone if I did not practice actually knowing, studying, and walking in the light of Christ, Who cared for all people. I had wonderful mentors, and at some point realized maturity requires direct responsibility to the light, and preparation and commitment to assist others. "
