The senses we are born with can only go so far in perceiving the environment and measuring reality. With discipline and using tools we can hone these senses to become precise instruments which then hones the same capacity within the mind - to make the mind sharp like a knife. Then we have the capacity to venture forth and experience the subtle realities otherwise untouchable/unfathomable.
