Come As You Are: November 13 2025

I'm mad as hell today. As you might know, if you've followed any of my recent posts, the heart rate sensor on my Fitbit recently broke. I tried everything to fix it, but I think it was a hardware problem. So I went ahead and bought a new Fitbit. I was a little bit excited when it came in because it is a new toy and who doesn't like opening a new toy. I opened it up and set it up and synced it with the Fitbit app ony phone. At that point, I had already had about 13,500 steps for the day. I put it on and started logging more steps. It synced a few times and then all of a sudden it synced again and next thing I know I only had 700 steps for the day. This ruined my entire day.
For the past 10 or 11 days, I've had a mindset of getting 20,000 steps no matter what. And I did get my 20,000 steps today, but the app is only going to show a measly 6000 steps. I know that it's really just a technicality, but I really wanted to be able to show all those steps that I had completed.

I guess if I were to look at the positives of the situation, at least it now shows my active zone minutes. It will also record my sleep data as well, which is something that I was missing. I managed to get 22 floors in today. Of course, that was before I synced with the new device, which is also crazy because why would it resync the steps but not the stairs? Anyway, I guess it is what it is.

Continuing with the theme: Each night I post the song that was playing as I ended the workout and use that as the title for the post for that day. This song for today was Come as You Are by Nirvana. I've always liked this song, even when I really wanted to not like it. I didn't really have anything against the song, but I wasn't the biggest Nirvana fan. They have a lot of good songs, but they also have a lot of bad ones. But most of their hits are the good songs. I like this one because I like all of the contradictions within the song. Take your time, hurry up. The choice is yours. Don't be late. I don't know what Kurt Cobain and them guys were thinking when they wrote this but to me, it has always been about indecision within oneself. It's an invitation to people to come as they are, but is that what you really want? What if the way they are has changed since you last knew them? Do you want them to come as they were then? Or maybe they got a little bit too crazy last time and you want them to be a little better behaved this time. You start thinking about it and the next thing you know, you have the lyrics to a hit song.
Well, that's it for today. I've got to go test out the sleep logging capability for this watch. I'll check in with y'all tomorrow.
