Weekends Accompanied by the Piano!
Reading the question have I ever worked on the weekend made me smile. A thought about all those people who usually have free-of-work weekends... It must be a blessing. I am sure. But as hard as I think I can't remember when was the last time I didn't work on the weekend.

Oh, I know.
It was during my summer break when we went on vacation. We travelled to visit our families and those were the weeks (and weekends) I didn't even think about work.
But I am back and my activities too. On Saturday morning the doorbell rings, sometimes a few times... depending on how many students come to my home for piano lessons. I simply can't find a better schedule for them between Monday and Friday. Those days are already full of lessons.
Yesterday the doorbell didn't have a lot of work, it announced the arrival of a student eager for knowledge of learning new piano compositions and songs just once. With that teenage student, we practised the piano version of the song My Heart Will Go On (from Titanic), Imagine (by John Lennon), and a few short exercises. The afternoon was spent on the beach, so I guess it doesn't fit into this post - as it is not work-related hahaha.
Sundays... It is again morning when I work. Can you imagine? A tasty breakfast, with sunrise, sea views and piano music? If you can't imagine that, then you should visit the hotel where I play. Of course, I went to play this morning too and the guests were so nice today, as always. Several of them came to say how much they enjoyed the music but then, in the end, a younger guy came. I spotted his eyebrow piercing (but it has nothing to do with this topic 😆). So, he came and asked if he could make a critique. Sure, no problem, I can survive a negative comment. What he said was that the food was great and the hotel excellent, but the music... the music was fantastic! 😋
Apart from these regular piano teaching and playing activities that I have during the weekends, sometimes there are weddings where I play or other different events. One of those was the Events Fair.
It was a fair to promote small businesses and services that can be used at weddings, birthdays, or parties. Shops with special clothes, florists, hairdressers, beauty salons, photographers, hotels, restaurants, luxury car rental agencies, jewellery stores, artists, musicians etc.
That's where my husband took these photos of me and a colleague when we played together. I performed several pieces just on the piano, but also with two singers and a saxophonist. He is also a friend, we have known each other from before. There, at the fair, we chose one song, practised it for a few minutes in one break and played it together. It was fun. The fair lasted for a whole weekend, with many visitors and it was covered by media... But then, lockdown came and I guess all those who wanted to get married in the next few months had to cancel that thought. 🤐
Not a really happy end... I invested some money in flyers for this event but we didn't know everything would be shut down in our business for some time. However, those are some minor losses, as the experience stays positive.
I hope you all are having a nice weekend, with or without work. Mine was once again accompanied by the piano! {Oh, is it work at all - playing the piano? 😁}

Well, I don't know if it transformed our lives in long term. Maybe changed a bit for about two years but we humans can adapt to many things ;)

También envidio a todo aquel que toma los fines de semana como día libre, en mi caso son los días más productivos, aunque no te voy a mentir, estos también son buenos para escapar algún lugar como parque o incluso la playa.
Todo mal resultado al final resulta bueno, es experiencia y nos ayuda a ser fuertes en un futuro.
No hay sitio para la envidia :)) Porque en cada trabajo se puede encontrar satisfacción (hasta un punto jeje) y dignidad, aunque se desarollan los fines de semana.

What a year it was during the Global pandemic. Every wedding had to be canceled, events had to be on hold. Nobody knew when it was all gonna end all we had was our loved ones and beautiful memories to keep us through.
My weekend was fantastic, tho I don't understand why the time is running so fast hahaha.
Yeah, weddings and many gatherigns had to be canceled, but it passed.

The elegance that I can only achieve in massive concerts accompanied by many people, you overcome in an instant when you play so well accompanied and so beautiful. I am sure that the audience present enjoyed the privilege of listening to great classics through this piano and saxophone, I can't hear it here, but your career is the best proof I have. It sounds like you had a delightful weekend filled with the joy of music, @mipiano! Teaching eager students and sharing your musical talents at various events must be so rewarding, even though it takes up your weekends.
Do you have any favorite piano pieces or songs that you find particularly uplifting or enjoyable to play during these events?
Favourite piano pieces? Many of them and all for different occasions. I play classical music - if it matches the type of the concert or recital. For ceremonies at weddings - it depends on the bride and groom. While I just bring my soft accompaniment for other occasions, then I choose neo-classical (like Ludovico Einaudi type) or soundtracks 🎶 😇

I always say it's good to rescue the positive things from every experience, in this case working at the weekend, when you love what you do, I don't know if you can call it work, but there can be things that ...well, you always have to see the positive side and the piano is one of them.

Yes, of course, we always have to find the positive side, and it is not difficult when our jobs involve creativity and enjoyment, right? 😃
We are both artists, and it's totally true what you say, we do what we love to do. That's how it is😀
I think it's great to have a job that is so enjoyable and always brings you joy... sometimes you have to deal with some little things (I remember that post where you were a little upset about changes and lack of coordination), but in the end when you put your hands on the piano everything lights up, your world and the world of others.

But the greatest satisfaction of an artist is the recognition of the public when they appreciates your art work , without them I say that our work is incomplete.

We artists don't have "weekends". We have, but they are almost destined to be used for making new creations or bring the music to our listeners 🎶 🍸

It gives a lot of confidence in a person to perform in events like this, the way we see that you have performed is so much better. When a person achieves the goals of his life, there is a lot of happiness.
Wao, what a busy activities playing piano almost every weekend! The beautiful part of it is that it brings you and the family something to eat and care for other expenses.
