Sing and don't cry

It sounds nicer in Spanish - Canta y no llores.

Actually a line from a song, I guess you have heard that ay, ay, ay ay, canta y no llores... many times {be honest! do you sing it right now?} 🎶

This Mexican song, Cielito Lindo (well, it seems that it has Spanish origins but everyone knows it as one of the most famous and iconic Mexican songs) written by Quirino Mendoza y Cortés came first to my mind yesterday morning. The composer wrote it inspired by his wife, but there are also doubts about it, as the lyrics could come from old Andalusian "coplas". So, let's not dive into it deeply as I will lose the thread 😁 and I haven't even started. Why complicate these things? The importance goes to the don't cry part :)

But why would we cry at all?

Why?

Maybe because this morning (ok, in the moment of publishing it's YESTERDAY morning), we saw where the next HiveFest will be held?

Mexico!?

Ay, ay, ay, ay...

That can be a long and expensive trip, but there are always options on how to achieve the goals. For example, there is a Mexican restaurant relatively close to my home, so I could maybe go there to have tacos, chill and think about making a decision whether to go or not. Or just imagine that the HiveFest would be held this close to my place. I would order also a few shots of tequila and listen to Mexican music. Yeah, TEQUILA would help me to use better my imagination.

This was a very funny version of the song Tequila! My mood already improved... and maybe I don't even have to go to this restaurant. My son brought home tacos and my husband already became a DJ. He found all kinds of Mexican songs to use as a subliminal message. Seriously. He admitted it as he wants me to get into this journey. That means crossing the big salty lake, going across the country and reaching Rosarito. Is it easy?

IMG_20230602_075945.jpg

Maybe we just need to forget questions 😂

Life is not easy by itself - how would this journey be simple? However, he seemed persistent with his questions, jokes, laughter and songs. More music, even cartoons and movies is what he found in the big sea of information. Many of them came to our home to make that country stay in my mind all the time. This song was one of them too, it came several times to our musical menu.

I almost dropped my guard and started to enjoy Canción del Mariachi, but I knew that a different tune should fight back. Classical music?

Let's see if can we satisfy our senses with those sounds, as the tacos were spicy and I needed to cool down. Tequila with salt and lemon would not be a good option for that.

Studies Between Preludes. A piece for piano by a Mexican composer, Gabriela Ortiz. Shall we listen to this composition together, and get into a zen mode, no pressure, no questions, just peace, harmony and tranquillity...?

It was not what you expected? Though one thing is probably certain - we have forgotten about the first song from the beginning of this post and we don't want to cry. I hope! As that damn happiness again overwhelms us ✨

The September thing is not decided, of course. But my husband said that he would continue with Mexican music, questions and jokes for the next three months, or until I agree... or start to sing 😆

Yes alcohol will make you forget questions and problems just for a moment. They really don't give answers but many people love it and most didn't drink moderately.

It was just for fun, the alcohol thing, to bring the tequila song and a bit of laughter :D

Have a nice weekend @jenthoughts 🤓

Ha, ha, ha, ha. Your husband had the right attitude! Maybe you'll find yourself at the HiveFest.

I know for a fact that I can't go since there's tons of paperwork involved. So I'd just get done Mexican food. The tequila part will be more difficult, but I'll see what I can do.

Will you be travelling to Mexico? It would be great! another culture, other customs, you always learn... it's true it's better not to ask questions, but if we don't ask them how the universe is going to answer us?

The idea is very good... Antonio Banderas that great song, I love it... and him too hahahaha he is super handsome! I had to say it.

The piano then sounds so harmonious and so beautiful that it's impossible not to smile and forget to cry.

Thanks @mipiano!✨

Ay cielito lindo... I think ...🤣 is a very good opportunity to come to Havana and then go to Rosarito.
If you're going to cross the big salty lake... Do it in style.

😋

Hora de ir a trabajar!

I learned a new spanish word.. Is canta means sing?, in our dialect, it also means sing but with different spelling.. K instead of C 😁..

Yes, canta means to sing. That is so similar then, and that C is pronounced with the K.

Ah, isn't it ironic? Not only is the next HiveFest on the American continent (for once), but right back home in México? And Rosarito is actually quite close to the border, where I have this project... sort of... But now I just happen to be in GERMANY, out of all places!!! Will I make it there in September? Serious doubts, but maybe I should just try...

The beginning of your comment immediately brought one song to my mind.

Yeah, I noticed you are in Germany now and not in Mexico. But there is still time until September.

Will you go to the Berlin meetup (10th of June if I am not mistaken?)

"It's like ra-i-ain...", hahaha! Yes that was my full intention. I'm glad you picked up on it.

I really have no idea what will happen before September, so I will be completely open to going vs. not going. As for the Berlin Meet-up next week, I'll be there for sure.

The sentence about alcohol struck me very much, in fact it's prprior to that: alcohol doesn't solve problems, but it makes you forget them; or rather, for a time it numbs your mind until you don't think about them anymore.
The problem is later--the headache from the hangover and the fact that the problems are always there where we left them!

True - the headache from the hangover I think brings even more troubles haha and the problems stayed.
Anyway, I brought that photo just to connect with the song Tequila. ;)
