TTT FUNK TUESDAY
We all need a pick up Tuesday afternoon so we are still posting Three tunes Tuesday. Although I can't create three new tunes today, I know three tunes that might pick you up and get this week started.
This week began slowly as I went from getting up with a headache to an IV by the afternoon. I hate stomach bugs, but I love the funk that they create. May is in the groove. It's been rainy almost every day and we need a little music to kick start this week.
We will start with some Ghetto funk from Lafayette. This piece is completely instrumental. Yes, there are enough cow bells. The guitar and synth are hypnotizing and the rhythm is classic to say the least, Funkalizing.
Lafayette Afro Rock Band - Hihache
Before "gangsta rap" there was Baby Huey, James Thomas Ramey. Babey Huey named himself after the cartoon character. His band, "Baby Huey and the Babysitters" changed their name to "Sly and the Family Stone". Huey had a life of "hard times" but in a short time his rhymes became the pulse of modern hip-hop.
Baby Huey Hard Times
This next group was active for a few years in the 2000s. They sound like 70s classic funk, but recorded just ten years ago. Matt Amburgy is on the organ, Terry Cole on bass, Andrew DeRoberts is on guitar and Rob Houk on Drums. I'm not sure why the Jive Turkeys stopped recording. It seems like they were having fun. Sometimes it is better just to sit back and enjoy the music.

I can listen to "The Funky Turkey" ten times straight.
Enjoy your day ;)
After listening to all these, suddenly I went on and searched for this song.
Classic and Groovy. Thanks for sharing^^
Funky and fluffing awesome!
Baby Huey and the Babysitters were brilliant and yeah whatever happened to The Jive Turkeys they were cool.
Music does have a healing power. I started to feel much better after listening. There is no news I could find about the Jive Turkeys. They must be alive somewhere.
Yeah music is just brilliant for that!
