Three Love and Nature Tunes for Tuesday
I'm taking some time today to remember the nature around me. Living in a big city means I have to go out of my way to listen to nature and hear the love song she calls.
I'm not going to say that nature is gender neutral. She is mother nature and is like a mom that bears with me and comforts me.
Concrete Jungle - Bob Marely
Being rejected or losing someone is the feeling of being forced into captivity of the concrete jungle. This song emancipates us from the concrete jungle and plants a spirit of joy. When we are set free we are "always laughing like a clown".
I listen to Bob Marely sing these words and I am set free from the concrete jungle. I am dancing to the guitar that does not weep but sing to the glory of nature's rejuvenation. His gentle voice sets us free from the illusion and gives us a breath of fresh air.
Back to the Earth - Jason Mraz
Every once and a while I include some popular song from this decade. I include this because I like the simple ukulele and the simple message, "we are animals". We can't just sit in our air-conditioned office all day because it is too hot outside.
We need to step outside, even if it is too hot or too cold and see what the earth is up to. The sad thing is many of my students don't actually see the earth earth (I mean dirt) until they get to school. Everything else is completely paved over in that neighborhood.
The school is a little oasis where kids can grow rice, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, pumpkin and cabbages. We share the harvest together and have a lot of fun in the process.
Our school vegetable garden.
Going up the Country - Canned Heat
I have never seen these guys perform live until I stumbled on their youtube channel today.
You know this song. It's the one with the flute. Maybe Hive's Flute and guitar player [Rory Laird]https://peakd.com/@rorykl/posts) can play this song @rorykl and @albuslucimus.
Watch how the lead singer tries to stay cool why the flue gets intense. His nick name is "blind owl". I would guess he is the definition of "Groovy" as he smiles and watches the flute get in a limbo and literally hog the camera.
Anyway I love to listen to this song and I can identify. I have a headache today. Probably because of the over use of air conditioning. As soon as I'm outside I enter the hot and busy city.
When I get home I am nestled in the mountain but still I'd love to get out into the country and spend a few days. I made some reservations on a small island a couple hours away next month. I'm a little ahead of myself, but I am going up the country.
These three tunes were posted for the Three Tunes Tuesday initiated @ablaze and for the next couple weeks supported by a loving community. I just think the whole #ttt is a lovely way for me to think more about music and share it with you. The story and all the pictures here belong to me @mineopoly. The Youtube videos belong to the respective artists. I tried to find videos on the artists' home page and give credit to where it is due. The weather is not great, but I still will get my outside time today.
