Rock night, baby! [EN/PT]

This weekend another "JF Rock City" took place here in my city, an engaging event for lovers of good old rock and roll. Once again, I was there, and this is an event I always enjoy going to, as it brings together a good number of bands of varying styles. This is one of those events that attracts all kinds of audiences, and there were so many bands that I couldn't even name them all. All I can say is that it was a lot of fun.

Oh, and if you're wondering what the "JF" in the name of this event means, it's nothing more than the acronym for the name of my city: Juiz de Fora.

Well, this year's event had a special feature: it took place in a private venue and, although admission was free, you had to bring two kilos of non-perishable food that would be donated to charities. It was a good initiative, but I didn't think this move away from the event, which used to take place in the city center and was more accessible to people, including those who didn't like rock music so much but were curious or wanted to take part in sporadic events like this, was very nice. Unfortunately, I thought the change of venue was bad for this reason, but I can't complain too much, because the venue was really nice, with two stages and a flawless infrastructure. Perhaps the price of beer was more expensive than I usually pay, but otherwise everything was really well organized.

The concerts started early, and they really should have: on the first day alone, which was Saturday, there were at least ten bands performing. As I said before, the variety of styles was very eclectic and attracted my attention, as I like many different styles of rock. There were bands playing heavy metal, indie, progressive rock and so on. It was interesting to see it all in one night. The concerts continued on Sunday and there were still lots of bands to play!

It was a great weekend and a good opportunity to listen to some rock and drink some cold beer!
