Cultural Display At A 4-days Youth Convention Program
This post is long overdue, I had went to this occasion more than a month ago but I've been lazy to get the video prepared to share here about how a part of the program that was so fun to watch. The aim of the program was to bring youths together in one mind and have fun while winning souls for Christ.
One of the activities prepared for the youths was "A Cultural Display" for everyone to participate in. Well, like myself, many didn't get their attire prepared so the few who did sure had more fun than us.
I was excited to make a video and watch again everything that happened during the display. If you'd watch the video, you'll see how they made each tribe display their uniqueness in different and exciting ways.

We had six different tribes come out of the crowd to display their cultures in style... The Urhobo, The Igbo, The Yoruba, The Ijaw, The Ibibio, and The Isoko. I named them according to how they stood on the stage in the video if you are watching it.
You could tell from the crowd that everyone loved the progression of thing during the activity. The persons were asked different questions and made to do things in their own culture.
How do you call "Man and Woman" in your tribe?
This was the first question they were asked and they all answered brilliantly especially the Urhobo and yoruba, in my own opinion haha. In all, they were correct and do know their language well enough to know to call them.
What is your native food?
This one was actually educative for me as I got to learn of some meals I had not heard their names before especially the one of the Ijaws, I can't even spell what she pronounced but I've tasted that meal before and it was amazing! 😅 The other meals they mentioned were known but I am yet to taste some of them.
What do you call "Youth"in your tribe?
This one was unexpectedly interesting as I had thought many tribes won't have a language for such word but it turned out I'm just the one who doesn't know how it's called in my language (Urhobo) until that day when our representer taught all of us 😅 the others had it complicated but they got it after all.
Sing a song in your dialect
Another interesting section where we got to sing along with them since we knew most of the songs they shared in their dialect, I enjoyed the Ibibio song most even though my own tribe song was amazing too hehe.
Sing your tribe anthem
I didn't record the others on this one aside the Urhobo own, they all said their tribes don't have an anthem so in the end, the Urhobo won with more points on the cultural display activity.
There were more relating to the cultural Display but these are the main highlights from it and I hope you would enjoy the video I was able to share. Do tell me what you think about the different culture and maybe share your culture in the comment section with the questions in this post.

Lol I don't know that tribe
It's ok, this will be our little secret, I don't know my own tribe that well, I can't even speak their language effectively, I only speak English period 😂
Haha it's almost same for me but I'm trying on my end though 😅

I am familiar with that kind of program. Present in that kind of program help us to know many thing about different cultures besides it can be entertaining also. I am sure that you also enjoyed there a lot and thank you for share the video.
Yeah, I had a lot of fun 😊
Glad I shared
This is a good program and opens you to beautiful differences and how similar cultures are actually. Oh and about that picture, is that also from Canva? I mean those look like diversity in India as the female wears chapka, an indian accessory for their hair and head.
Haha it's a picture from Canva 😅
I didn't remember to take a picture of the actual persons involved in the display.
The wears are lovely though
I actually watched till end. But you had to stop the video when it was your people singing the tribe anthem. I was looking forward to what the Yoruba guy would sing. But nothing spoil nau. 1-0
I enjoyed watching through. I could only understand Yoruba, of course.
Haha the others didn't sing their own anthem o
I think I got a call around that time so I had to end the video, glad you enjoyed it anyways 😁
I’m here not understanding the local dialects but I’m glad I read your write up. At least I have an idea of what they’re doing. When I saw cultural display, I thought there would be dancing. From Nigerian movies I’ve seen, the different tribes sure do know how to dance 😂
😂😂😂
No dance for this one, sorry to break your heart 😅
But yeah, they do know how to dance except me 🏃♀️
It's always beautiful to watch cultural displays and also to PARTICIPATE in them 😂
Haha the last time I participated in one was when I was very little 😅
You can participate in another
Hehe until the opportunity presents itself, thanks
See how my baby is enjoying without me.😅🤣 anyways, looks like you had a successful program and that’s all that matters.
Haha don't mind her, she will take you along next time 😅
I’ll be waiting 😁
