Last two weeks was a memorable one for my family and I, we planned and made sure to attend a 4-days youth convention to be held at a venue that had a place to sleep for the night. I can still feel the excitement I had while I prepared for it and I'm so glad it ended in praise and appreciation.

It was a first for me and I want to believe I wasn't the only one who found the program to be an amazing one considering the different activities they had planned to get us excited and entertained. I wish I could give a really good detail about how the program went but words would fail me and I may end up having a 5k words in here, just kidding!

It's my plan to share a special part of the convention in this post which I've made a video for your watch and also to get you into why I say it was a special activity for me.

I attended the program with my younger brother and a close friend, we had fun traveling a bit far from home, finding the venue, exploring the venue to sight see as the place had really cool buildings even though they were old. We also did some snack buying while we were at it, got acquainted with some new and old friends who also came for the program and that was it, we got in the groove to enjoy the program as much as we could.

Since it was a four days program, we spent both days and night getting together for different activities.

Pictures from the program

Some of the activities we had fun with were...

  • Group singing competition
  • Exercises and games
  • Cultural display

I think I'll share more about the cultural display another time, that activity was an exciting one as well. But for today, I'll be focusing on my favourite part of the program, the special!

An Acapella music display by a group from Imo state.

InShot_20231108_063935556.jpg

They call themselves "Myriads of Praise Gospel Acapella" and as the name implies, they sing gospel songs. All from Imo state and if there is one word I would use to describe them, that would be "Addictive" as I couldn't get enough of their voices and dynamics to how they presented their songs in Igbo language.

I shared a video that focused more on their two major presentations, one I think you'll enjoy listening to especially if you're a Igbo and for that I'd love to tag @nkemakonam89 and @sperosamuel15 specially to check it out hehe.

The musical aspect of the program was amazing thanks to this group and I'm so glad I attended, I'm hoping it won't be my first and last experience as there would be more programs like that in the future.

I hope you do enjoy the video I shared, do let me know what you think about their singing and let's interact in the comment section.

All images and videos are mine taken during the program

Looks like you guys at fun.
There is someone singing bass there, I like it.
Were you in the video? Or were you the one recording the video?
Programs like this are usually fun ones.
Was it like a camp where food is shared?

I wasn't in the video since I was the one recording 🙂
Yeah, it's a camp and we ate a lot. So sad I didn't remember to take pictures of the different meals we were served 🥲

I thought as much cos I heard a voice that sounded like yours behind the camera.
You are a lot, wow! I wasn't expecting that response because of the country's economy.
They must have prepared for you guys well.

See how harmoniously the different vocal ranges blended together to bring out a very melodious song.
The lyrics of their song is amazing, just praising God in such a magnificent manner is soul- lifting. It was nice letting readers into the program you attended. It was a 4days well spent
