From "Soda Pop" To "Your Idol": Saja Boys' Musical Prowess
The hype about "Kpop Demon Hunters" is still on and I keep listening to the songs. I have shared thought on best characters, I also shared my thought on Huntrix's Songs and today, I decided to share my review on the contagious songs by the demon boy group in the movie "Saja Boys".
Like I had said in my previous post, the songs in this animation movie are my favourite part of it so dedicating a few posts for them feels just right for me to do. I'll almost think I'm more of a fan of the Saja Boys than Huntrix but only because of the actor voicing Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop)
Jinu started the demon boy band after an agreement made with Gwima to erase his human memories. What seemed like a funny idea got interesting with their debut song "Soda Pop". Even though the Saja boys came out with the aim to steal Huntrix fans, viewers love their songs.
The Saja boys sure overpowered the Huntrix for a good while with their debut song, reminds me so much of the real world and how people tend to love new songs for a while before remembering their first love. Maybe there were some dark touches to their songs that made it so effective.
There is no need choosing which of the Saja Boys songs is the best as they sang only two, both are very different even though they both send same message - contagiously demonic. So this would be more of a review of the songs and no ranking but you can share which you like best.
Saja Boys - Soda Pop
Honestly, I didn't take much thought into the lyrics of this song until sometime ago. I just enjoyed the melody and picture the choreography whenever I listen to it. So it was like rediscovering how beautiful this song is after I learned the lyrics, the Huntrix were right to say the song is contagious. Soda Pop is their first song and they sure succeeded in winning fans over with it. I still can't forget the scene where "Gwima" sang the part "My little soda pop!".
Saja Boys - Your Idol
I think this song would have drew the crowd in without Gwima actually controlling them to go listen so he could take their souls. But just to be sure, he made the world of Kpop lovers listen and at once. It was a really captivating scene, the best after Huntrix stage performances of course. The song lyrics are quite powerful and can be disturbing for who thinks deeply into it. Even with that, the song is still a good one from the Saja Boys. I especially like the intro part of the song.
Rumi & Jinu - Free
Not one of the Saja boys songs but more like a combo of Saja Boys and Huntrix that seem to be underrated, at least that I can tell from many comments I've read about the songs in the movie. Rumi singing with Jinu definitely sparked up more expectations from viewers as we find ourselves shipping for their two to be together until the end we didn't expect or maybe we did, lol. The lyrics of the song "Free" is quite relatable and Jinu's rap in it has to be my favourite part.
Over all, all the songs in Kpop Demon Hunters are a masterpiece and I've seen countless covers, watched a lot of cosplays and short clips of the animation. It shows how much people enjoy the songs and how many have seen the movie, read the movie crossed a lot of past achievements. I'm hoping to see another like this.
