"La Mentira" es una de las canciones más hermosas que se han compuesto en español. Considero uno de los boleros más importantes de la historia de la música. Cuenta con versiones de Placido Domingo, Javier. Solís, José José, Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Los Panchos y Tito Rodríguez, entre otros grandes intérpretes de la música hispana. Está canción me cautivó desde niño; la conocí en 1991 cuando mi papá compró el LP "Romance" del cantante mexicano Luis Miguel. Ésta producción es una de las más importantes de la historia de la música, pues rescató el "bolero", género musical que prácticamente muy poco se escuchaba; volvió a estar de moda con ese LP. Los jóvenes y niños en ese año comenzamos a disfrutar de la música que escuchaban nuestros abuelos. Por tanto, "La Mentira" fue una de mis piezas favoritas a escuchar una y otra vez de la mencionada producción. Así que a penas pude, comencé a aprender a tocar esta canción con el #cuatrovenezolano para acompañarme cantándola. Hace pocos días me encontré una versión muy bonita del cantante Luis Enrique, y entonces volvió a mi ese enamoramiento por el tema. Así que, a pesar de estar muy afectado vocalmente, decidí interpretar la con mucho cariño para ustedes.
