We Watched BYU Vocal Point Concert Twice!

Last month the BYU Vocal Point had their Philippine Tour. They had several concerts in major cities of the country. In May 12, they had 2 scheduled performance in Ayala Center Cebu Cinema 4.

BYU Vocal Point, or simply Vocal Point, is a nine-member, male a cappella group at Brigham Young University (BYU). Founded by two students, Bob Ahlander & Dave Boyce, in 1991, Vocal Point was under the direction of Emmy award-winning director and former member, McKay Crockett. However in December 2022, Crockett decided to leave as director for a new job opportunity. He is replaced by former member Carson Trautman.

My family did not have a tickets to the concert. But luckily the night before the said date, a church mate asked us if we wanted to watch BYU Vocal Point perform. Which I gave a resounding YES! answer! The tickets was for the 3PM schedule, which meant, it will only be me and our girls who can watch. My husband is at work on that time of the day.

But for the record he first saw the group before us. 😀 They (VP) dropped by my husband's workplace to buy some important stuff and had picture taking with them.

Our friend instructed me that we will meet at Ayala Center and there she will give the tickets.

The day of the Concert

I got my girls ready hours before the concert and off we went to Ayala Center. There we gladly received the concert tickets and we were excited to see VP perform! Yey!

Inside the theater we find our seats and waited for the event to begin. While waiting, I took some shots for remembrance. 😀

Concert!

I wasn't able to resist and took several photos and videos of their performances! It was allowed by the way. What amazing talents these young men have!

They had a cappella versions of my favorite songs! wow!

They sang We Don't Talk About Bruno. It is also one of their popular video is YouTube where they performed with the Original Encanto's Dolores -Adassa. Adassa was not present with them but they had a recording of her singing as Dolores.

With the video above, you can hear my voice on the background LOL. They actually let the audience sing with them and so I did and my girls! I have more videos in my phone but I'll just share a few. 😂

The concert ended with the audience asking for more! With the awesome presentation and talents they have, you will really be asking for more! But it was time to say goodbye!

There was a meet and greet after where fans where given opportunities to have picture taking with the group.

I called up my husband that we will be waiting for him at the Ayala Center. My girls and I did not join the crowd busy taking pictures. Instead we just watched them 😂 .The first meet and greet was kind of chaotic. The crowd was not properly controlled at first.

My husband arrived when the meet and greet was almost over. I asked him if he would like to watch the concert at 7PM. I told him I will buy him one which he refused because he did not want to watch alone. 😂

But here's the thing, one of his friend who was part of the organizers told him to see her before the 7PM schedule because she will give him ticket/s. I said WOW! And so we waited. While waiting for the time, we ate dinner.

Watched Them the Second Time Around!

And Yes we got to watch Vocal Point perform again! This time at the front seats! 😀 Now with my husband.

What a privilege it was to watch them share their talents to their audience and fans again! We were grateful!

Up close and personal with Vocal Point! The group did not fail their fans with their exceptional performance! Their audience was in high energy watching them sing and dance!

And then it was time to say goodbye again and another round of meet and greet. This time we joined the crowd falling in line and waited for our turn to have picture taking with the group.

There you go! One member almost not included in the picture. 😂 But still big thank you to our friend who took this one.

Over all, we had a great time! As a person who loves music, this one was a rare opportunity to have. To be able to watch the same concert twice in a row!
