Esta es la primera Cápsula Musical de Maryed para el 2026 y en esta oportunidad te daré recomendaciones musicales que recibí el año pasado y que me gustaron tanto que ahora soy yo quien te las quiere recomendar a ti. Por lo general, en mis Cápsulas Musicales suelo recomendar tres canciones, pero esta primera Cápsula constará sólo de dos canciones porque siento que tengo mucho para decir sobre ellas. Estas recomendaciones vinieron de la mano de una persona maravillosa a quién le tomé un cariño y respeto profundo. This is the first Maryed Music Capsule for 2026, and this time I'm going to give you some music recommendations that I received last year and liked so much that now I want to recommend them to you. Usually, in my Music Capsules, I recommend three songs, but this first Capsule will only have two songs because I feel like I have a lot to say about them. These recommendations came from a wonderful person whom I have grown to love and respect deeply. AURORA & Silvana Estrada — Cure For Me
Comencemos por el hecho de que hasta este momento yo no conocía a ninguna de estas dos cantantes, así que apenas me dijeron: ”ten, escucha esta canción porque te va a gustar” quedé embobada con la voz de estas dos chicas, tanto así que no dudé en buscarlas en Spotify y agregar sus canciones a mi biblioteca de reproducción. Este es un remix de la canción original cantada por Aurora, quien es descrita por muchos como una ”hada nórdica”, un apodo que me parece le encaja perfecto considerando su estética mística y su voz de cristal tan ligera y etérea. A esta colaboración sumamos la voz de Silvana Estrada, cantautora mexicana, quien añade un punto clave: la biculturalidad, logrando que el mensaje que se intenta transmitir con la canción se sienta mucho más Universal. Otro de los factores que me hacen amar esta canción es la atmósfera creada por la instrumentación acústica y artesanal que se diferencia mucho de la versión original.
El significado de la canción es bastante potente. De hecho, la versión original nace como una respuesta de Aurora a esa absurda presión de la sociedad por querer ”arreglar” a quienes son diferentes o que no siguen con los patrones sociales comúnmente aceptados. La frase central de esta canción ”I don´t need a cure for me” es un grito de aceptación personal y de afirmación de que nuestra esencia no puede ser modificada por un tercero, pues realmente nadie tiene la suficiente potestad para arreglar algo en nuestra forma de amar, sentir o ver el mundo, por más que la sociedad intente patologizar nuestra individualidad.
De esta colaboración hay muchas frases claves por resaltar y, realmente, pudiese extenderme un poco más pero prefiero dejarlo para otro post porque la canción merece ser analizada parte por parte, pero en líneas generales Cure For Me te lleva a reflexionar sobre que no necesitas sacrificar nada para poder encajar y que nuestra identidad no es algo que nos impone la sociedad, nuestros padres o cualquier otra persona…no, es más bien una construcción propia, cuestión que se reafirma en la frase I know I created myself. Frase que me parece maravillosa porque es una forma clara y directa de rechazar la idea de que alguien más tiene el control sobre cómo deberíamos de ser.

Una de mis cosas favoritas en la vida es cuando canciones estrenadas hace 10, 20 o 30 años atrás (o incluso más) resurgen masivamente al ser empleadas en series o películas actuales y este es el caso de la canción Punkrocker de la banda sueca Teddybears. Obviamente ya había escuchado canciones de esta banda, tampoco vayas a pensar que vivo encerrada en una burbuja, pero particularmente esta canción la vine a escuchar el año pasado en la banda sonora de la película Superman de James Gunn.
