New Music - Pieta Soul (Strange days remix ) - Jam sessions LIVE / MUSIC PRODUCTION TIPS

Today I was in a good mood to make beats, and to post it on chain because it's been a while since I post a beat.

This track is called Pieta Soul, it's inspired by an replica of the Pieta a work by Micheangelo, a very powerful sculpture I saw while I was walking in the city, it captivated a spiritual vibe but at the same time an urban and wordly style.

That's me in a nutshell basically, so that was the vibe that I wanted to capture in this track.

REALLY TECHNICAL STUFF

This time I'm gonna make a deep dive n into the technical specs on this production, because I think it's really interesting and I want to share this info with the musical community.

Sometimes it tends to be a little intimidating producing from scratch, its like starting a paint with a blank page, so I have a technique to overcome this, and I put notes randomly without even hearing them, I put them wherever on the piano roll, and then after that I hear and I fix them until I find a catchy melody, its my secret strategy to overcome the paralysis by analysis, because I know it hard to start specially when you have so many options to choose from in terms of sound, notes, effects and so on...

I started with the note C5 then D#5 and little by little I got that main melody or "leitmotiv" that repeats on the whole beat with variations.

Another cool thing aboit this track is the sound "Dark horse" this is like a filler sound, you know that if you have the melody by itself, it tends to sound a little bit off, it's like it doesn't go well, so to give a little more "vibe" I use some "ghost" notes to fill the sound.

Usually this sound has the same notes as the main melody but with other variations to give a little more depth to the track.

So little by little I kept adding more sounds to the mix, this is called sequencing in electronic music, its like you are making a build up adding more and more sounds until you have the full texture.

After the Dark Horse sound I put the Clap, it depends on the producer, I use to start the drum beat with hi hats but I think claps are my favorite now, then I put the hijats and finally the KICK DRUMS, thats when the full mood comes into place.

I used a filter called "fruity distortion" this is inportant for me because I want to have a signature sound on my tracks and with time I realized that mine is distortion, so I apply a lot of it, specially on the channel of the kick drums, but after that I did it with the Effector plugin on the master, along with the low fi.

Finally after messing around with those effects I put the tag Strange Days because thats the name of this remix, and right after that for the second part of the track I used the gross beat, to give variations to the beat to make it more dynamic and fun.

Describing the whole track technically was fun and very interesting, sometimes we overlool this kinds of details when we hear a track and we don't see the whole stuff that goes on on the background, but remember that every producer has a reason why he is using a particular sound and how on each second of the track and if we take the time to appreaciate those little things se get a much more rich experience enjoying the art.
