Una Mañana Con Los Abuelitos | A Morning with the Elders
Hola, Queridos Hivers!

Hello, Dear Hivers!
I had a wonderful day today!

A few months ago, the people from the Aventura Mayor Foundation contacted me to join them for some of their events at nursing homes, helping the elderly residents have a pleasant and different experience.
It took me a while to reply because of the number of messages I had, but when I finally did, we agreed on dates.
A few weeks ago, we got in touch again and agreed that I would join them at five nursing homes this February. So, I started choosing and preparing the music I would play until today, the day of the first event.
I felt very excited but also a little nervous because I didn't know what kind of music they would like best. For that reason, I brought a little bit of everything, and that way I could also figure out what to improve for the next nursing homes.
Once there, we were welcomed with open arms, and unlike my other performances, here I didn't just play one song after another, but I also interacted with the audience and got them moving. It was like a mini-party; I had so much fun!
There was a gentleman who sang some songs for me, accompanying himself on guitar, another who sang an a cappella song from the bottom of his heart, and I also asked everyone where in Venezuela they were from. I got them dancing, singing, and most importantly, I gave them a different kind of experience and made them smile.
I left that place with my heart full of love, joy, and gratitude to God for leading me there, and to the people who so kindly invited me.
It was an unforgettable experience!
Here's a little video of that lovely morning we shared. I hope you enjoy it!
Thankful to God, and to you for reading and listening! 💜
It sure looks as if everyone had a grand time! It's great that you have the time and willingness to do this. I used to play the piano once a week at an assisted living facility, and the residents seemed to enjoy it. Then I got too busy with my grandchildren and I haven't been doing it for a couple of years.
I am thinking of the musical "Mama Mia" when i see this. The elder people really enjoyed that which was nice to see. Also cool to hear you playing the violin too. I have quite a few violinists in my family. My sister plays and cello and my mum and my mums husband makes elsectric violins and plays at weddings and community projects and one of my cousins who was a street performer and now has his own recording studio in New York. Your connection with your audience is excellent because you entertain from the heart. You are still young and I can see your future path has a lot of potential. Well done, I'm sure we will see you in some kind of musical film soon :)
