Hola, Queridos Hivers!

Les cuento que ando en Cumaná! Pero hoy les traigo el cuento de una escala que hice en la Isla de Margarita.

La Sociedad Venezolana de Medicina Interna me invitó a un congreso nacional de residentes para amenizar una de las actividades el día viernes 31.
Nos mandaron los boletos de avión para ese mismo día a las 9 de la mañana, así que ya desde las 7 estábamos en el aeropuerto con maleta en mano y muy emocionadas por el viaje!

En el aeropuerto nos encontramos con una de las visitadoras médicas que también iba al congreso, y fue genial! Pasamos el rato de espera conversando, y compartimos el taxi que nos llevó al hotel una vez en Margarita.

Debo decir que pasé todo el viaje con los ojos cerrados para no marearme jajaja, pero pasó rápido, gracias a Dios. Aunque cuando los abría me dí cuenta de cómo iba cambiando el cielo de nublado a soleado, fue impresionante!

Cuando llegamos inmediatamente sentimos la brisa caliente y el sol picante de la isla. Llegó el taxi a buscarnos y después de unos 40 minutos llegamos al hotel.

El hotel estaba hermosísimo! Tenía una piscina gigantesca, un comedor al aire libre, un mural precioso de la Virgen del Valle y trabajadores muy agradables. Nos dieron la bienvenida con un papelón con limón, y después de saludar a varias personas que nos esperaban, nos llevaron a nuestra habitación.

La habitación estaba bastante fresca. Tenía dos camas gigantescas, closet, nevera, televisor, un lindo baño con agua caliente, y un balcón con vista a la piscina y a la playa. Maravillosa. No queríamos salir de allí jajajaja.

Después de descansar unos segundos bajamos al comedor para almorzar, y descubrimos que el servicio era self service, y las opciones para elegir se veían todas muy buenas! Disfruté mucho de la comida allí, especialmente de los desayunos.
En mi primer desayuno comí de todo! Fruta, pan, arepa, empanada, huevo... Quedé más que satisfecha! Gracias a Dios por eso.

Después de almorzar, reposamos y nos fuimos a un salón a ensayar con un doctor que me acompañaría con el cuatro en la presentación de esa noche. Cuadramos y practicamos el repertorio que tocaríamos, y nos divertimos mucho en el proceso.

Teníamos que interpretar canciones venezolanas, preferiblemente de todas las regiones del país para que cada residente se sintiera identificado. Ya yo había llevado una lista, pero ahí los doctores me ayudaron a hacer cambios, y también hicimos una presentación power point con la información de cada tema.

Ya con todo listo, nos fuimos a arreglar para la gran noche.

Hello, dear Hivers!

I'm currently in Cumaná! But today I'm sharing a story about a layover I had on Margarita Island.

The Venezuelan Society of Internal Medicine invited me to a national residents' congress to liven up one of the activities on Friday the 31st. They sent us the plane tickets for that same day at 9:00 a.m., so we were already at the airport at 7:00 a.m. with our suitcases in hand and very excited about the trip!

At the airport, we ran into one of the medical representatives who was also going to the congress, and it was great! We spent the waiting time chatting, and we shared a taxi that took us to the hotel once we arrived in Margarita.

I have to say that I spent the whole trip with my eyes closed so I wouldn't get carsick, haha, but it went by quickly, thank goodness. Although when I opened them, I noticed how the sky kept changing from cloudy to sunny—it was amazing!

When we arrived, we immediately felt the warm breeze and the island's intense sun. The taxi came to pick us up, and after about 40 minutes, we arrived at the hotel.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! It had a huge pool, an outdoor dining area, a beautiful mural of the Virgin of the Valley, and very friendly staff. They welcomed us with a refreshing drink called papelón con limón, and after greeting several people who were waiting for us, they showed us to our room.

The room was quite cool. It had two huge beds, a closet, a refrigerator, a television, a nice bathroom with hot water, and a balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. Wonderful. We didn't want to leave!

After resting for a few seconds, we went down to the dining area for lunch and discovered that it was self-service, and the options all looked delicious! I really enjoyed the food there, especially the breakfasts.
At my first breakfast, I ate everything! Fruit, bread, arepas, empanadas, eggs... I was more than satisfied! Thank God for that.

After lunch, we rested and went to a room to rehearse with a doctor who would accompany me on the cuatro for that night's performance. We finalized and practiced the repertoire we would play, and we had a lot of fun in the process.

We had to perform Venezuelan songs, preferably from all regions of the country so that each resident would feel connected to them. I had already brought a list, but the doctors helped me make changes, and we also made a PowerPoint presentation with information about each song.

With everything ready, we went to get ready for the big night.
