Recital Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolivar / Recital at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music

Hola, Queridos Hivers!

Hoy les traigo el video de una de las arias que interpreté en mi recital de oratorios en el Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolívar.

Esta pieza lleva por nombre "With Verdure Clad the Fields Appear", y pertenece al oratorio de Joseph Haydn The Creation, o en aleman Die Schöpfung.

Este oratorio fue escrito originalmente en alemán, y más adelante fue traducido al inglés.

The Creation, como su nombre lo dice, narra la creación del mundo tal cómo se hace en el primer libro de la Biblia: El Génesis.

En el oratorio los encargados de narrar esta maravillosa historia son lo ángeles Gabriel, interpretado por una soprano, Uriel, interpretado por un tenor, y Raphael, interpretado por un bajo.
Más adelante los roles de Gabriel y Raphael cambian a ser Adán y Eva.

La verdad es que me parece un oratorio súper interesante, y vale la pena escucharlo.

En esta oportunidad el aria con recitativo que interpreté hablaba sobre cuando Dios, en el versículo 11 del Génesis, ordena que se hagan las plantas. El recitatuvo fue muy fiel al versículo:

Génesis 1:11 dijo: «Que produzca la tierra toda clase de plantas: hierbas que den semilla y árboles que den fruto.» Y así fue.

Y ya el aria como tal describe como van creciendo los árboles, la hierba, y todo lo demás. Es una imagen muy hermosa, y la melodía que Haydn decidió ponerle, quedó maravillosa. Te traslada a ese lugar, al nacimiento de toda la flora. Es un sentimiento muy bello!

Today I bring you a video of one of the arias I performed in my oratory recital at the Simón Bolívar Conservatory of Music.

This piece is called "With Verdure Clad the Fields Appear," and is from Joseph Haydn's oratory The Creation, or Die Schöpfung in German.

This oratory was originally written in German and was later translated into English.

The Creation, as its name suggests, narrates the creation of the world as it is described in the first book of the Bible: Genesis.

In the oratory, the angel Gabriel, played by a soprano, Uriel, played by a tenor, and Raphael, played by a bass, narrate this wonderful story.
Later, the roles of Gabriel and Raphael change to Adam and Eve.

I honestly think it's a super interesting oratory, and it's worth listening to.

This time, the aria with recitative I performed spoke about when God, in verse 11 of Genesis, commands the growth of plants. The recitative was very faithful to the verse:

Genesis 1:11 said, "Let the earth produce all kinds of plants: plants yielding seed and trees bearing fruit." And so it was.

And the aria itself describes how the trees, the grass, and everything else grow. It's a very beautiful image, and the melody Haydn chose to add to it is wonderful. It transports you to that place, to the birth of all flora. It's a very beautiful feeling!
