[ESP] [ENG] 🎶The producer that made me enjoy EDM: Kellen Pars | El productor que hizo que me gustara el EDM: Kellen Pars🎧
Hi, Hive!✨
¡Hola, Hive!✨
EDM is one of the genres of music that didn't used to call my attention too much. Not that I found it bad, I just didn't like it enough to listen to it often. The first time I heard something of the genre was when I was 13 years old with the Skrillex song,Scary monsters and nice sprites which I loved but the rest of the things from the style I heard at the time not so much, so I completely ignored the genre (and Skrillex too).
However, a couple of years ago I met a guy who is actually a producer of the genre. I started listening to his music and it turned out to be literally the only thing I've listened to on Spotify since then😂. In this post I want to talk about Kellen Pars.
When I started listening I still had my doubts because as I said, it wasn't a genre I really liked so I thought I was going to listen to kind of the same thing I would have listened to years ago but it definitely wasn't like that. I think I remember that the first song I heard wasI will find you; If it wasn't the first, it was the one I liked the most.
It was super nice to find a new genre of music that conveyed something so beautiful to me without the need for deep lyrics in the song. I will find you gives me a feeling of longing but with a certain hope, as in the end what we need will come to us. All this without a single word.
Of course the fact that music can generate emotions in me without the need for words was not something new, but what was new for me was the type of sound, it was not something usual. And even after becoming more interested in EDM looking for other artists, Kellen is still one of my favorites because of what his music transmit to me.
After listening to his music as well as more EDM in general I realized that there are a lot of subgenres that I still have a hard time distinguishing 😅 it's all very fused (for my inexperienced ear) so I'm not able to tell the exact difference between the subgenres. However, I know that the ones I liked the most are big room, future bass and progressive house. It is precisely this last genre that is Kellen's most recent song with other great producers and my favorite of all so far:
There are songs by Kellen that transmit beautiful emotions to me, softer or sweeter things likeI believe in you, which conveys pure hope to me not only because of the name but also because of its sound. Is beautiful. There's also
Inside that although it sounds a little sadder to me, the truth is that that emotion expressed in music seems precious to my mind. That's exactly what this song gives me a lot of nostalgia.
Also another one of my favorites is
Hold On which was also made with another producer. This one conveys a certain prayer to me, someone in the lyrics asks for another person to stay and everything you hear is in perfect combination with that idea. Is beautiful.
There are also songs with much more energy, such asAquila as well as
Shake it around and this last one is another one I like the most. I think EDM is perfect for bringing a lot of energy and Kellen does that beautifully.
On the other hand, something that has always caught my attention is the musical production process and I have been lucky enough to see him working. I have no idea about making music so I keep watching him work fully amazed even though I don't understand anything 😂. Honestly, it is a job that has a lot of study and practice behind it, which makes me greatly admire those people who dedicate themselves to it. Kellen has been at it for quite a few years. I think it will never cease to amaze me how in a few minutes he can put together an idea for a song doing so many things at the same time that no matter how much attention I pay I always get lost, but he knows exactly what to do and how. I really admire him a lot.
So if, like me, you haven't heard much about EDM, I invite you to listen to this artist who makes spectacular music because of how much he can transmit 🖤.
