Por post anteriores ya sabrán que mi género de música favorito siempre ha sido el metal. No, no es lo único que escucho pero ciertamente es el que más disfruto desde que era una niña pequeña.
El metal está cargado de muchísima energía y creo que es lo primero que me llamó la atención del género. Este por supuesto tiene distintos y variados sub géneros, unos más lentos, otros más rápidos, pesados, no tan pesados y un gran etcétera. Al contrario de lo que las personas pueden pensar es muy variado, hay de todo un poco.
You will already know from previous posts that my favorite music genre has always been metal. No, it's not the only thing I listen to but it's certainly the one I enjoy the most since I was a little girl.
Metal is loaded with a lotta energy and I think it's the first thing that caught my attention about the genre. This, of course, has different and varied sub-genres, some slower, others faster, heavy, not so heavy and much more. Contrary to what people may think it's very varied, there is a bit of everything.
Sin embargo cuando el metal dejó de considerarse mainstream comenzó a ser muy difícil escuchar algo nuevo, se mantenían sólo las bandas que ya estaban en la industria. Por supuesto ya casi nadie menciona el género, al menos no en los medios convencionales. Yo honestamente había perdido un poco la fe en el género pero, YouTube Todopoderoso vino a ser mi salvador recomendándome nuevas bandas. Hablaré de cada una en su debido momento, pero ahora es el turno de la que más disfruto y se ha convertido en una de mis favoritas: Falling in Reverse («Cayendo en reversa»).
However, when metal ceased to be considered mainstream it began to be very difficult to find something new in the genre, only the bands that were already in the industry remained. Of course hardly anyone mentions this gender anymore, at least not in the mainstream media. I had honestly lost a bit of faith in the genre but, Almighty YouTube came to be my savior recommending me new bands. I'll talk about each one of them at some point, but now it's the turn of the one I enjoy the most and has become one of my favourites: Falling in Reverse.

Metalcore, post hardcore, rapcore, rap rock... No sé cuántos géneros distintos tiene esta banda formada en 2008 por Ronnie Radke, quienes conocen la banda Escape The Fate («Escapar del destino») conocen a este increíble artista. Él tiene un pasado un tanto controversial aunque honestamente yo separo al artista de su arte por lo que no me interesa hablar de la vida privada de Ronnie sino de su trabajo como creador de música asombrosa.
Metalcore, post hardcore, rapcore, rap rock... I don't know how many different genres this band has, formed in 2008 by Ronnie Radke. Who knows the band Escape The Fate knows this incredible artist. He has a bit of a controversial past though honestly I separate the artist from his art so I'm not interested in talking about Ronnie's private life but rather his work as a creator of amazing music.
Entonces, cuando Ronnie deja Escape The Fate comienza este nuevo proyecto de Falling in Reverse siendo su primer trabajo publicado en 2011 llamado The drug in me is you («La droga en mí eres tú»). En líneas generales el estilo es bastante similar a lo que hacía con su banda anterior y esto realmente no es sorpresa, puesto que es evidente que el cerebro creativo detrás de ambas bandas es Ronnie.
Para el momento yo había escuchado Escape The Fate pero realmente no era una banda que me cautivara demasiado, creo que era más que nada la estética, esa especie de emo glam que para nada era mi estilo. Así que no seguí el curso de la banda por lo que ni siquiera me enteré de que existía otro proyecto de Radke hasta hace un par de meses con la llegada del single que lo cambió todo, sí, Watch The World Burn («Mira el mundo arder»).
So, when Ronnie leaves Escape The Fate, he begins this new Falling in Reverse project, being their first published work in 2011 called The drug in me is you. In general terms the style is quite similar to what he did with his previous band and this really comes as no surprise, since it is evident that the creative brain behind both bands is Ronnie.
At the time I had listened to Escape The Fate but it really wasn't a band that captivated me too much, I think it was more than anything the aesthetics, that kind of emo glam that was not really my style at all. So I didn't follow the band back then, I didn't even find out that another Radke project existed until a couple of months ago with the arrival of the single that changed everything, yes, Watch The World Burn.
La que para mí es la obra maestra de Radke hasta el momento. Un tema mezcla de rap, trap, powermetal y metalcore que solo va escalando en energía hasta el clímax que te deja totalmente desorientado y anonadado. Sencillamente es una canción increíble, tanto que a pesar de que el metal no está en lo mainstream este tema alcanzó en cinco meses las 38 millones de reproducciones en YouTube. En comparación a la música popular puede que no sea mucho, pero considerando que este género no tiene relevancia actualmente esa cantidad de visitas es fenomenal.
Si aún no lo has escuchado, házte a ti mismo un favor y escúchalo ya. La letra es una maravilla también al igual que el vídeo musical, y allí tengo otros puntos que tocar sobre el trabajo de esta banda. Los significados, puesto que nada parece estar puesto por coincidencia ni al azar.
Which for me is Radke's masterpiece so far. A song that mixes rap, trap, powermetal and metalcore that only escalates in energy until the climax that leaves you totally disoriented and stunned. It is simply an incredible song, so much so that despite the fact that metal is not in the mainstream, this song reached 38 million views on YouTube in five months. Compared to popular music it may not be much but considering that this genre has no relevance right now that amount of views is phenomenal.
If you haven't heard it yet, do yourself a favor and listen to it now. The lyrics are wonderful as well as the music video, and there I have other points to touch on the work of this band. The meaning, since nothing seems to be placed by coincidence or chance.

Las letras son claramente acompañadas de videos musicales hechos de forma excelente, muy elaborados y sí, bastante explícitos la mayoría de veces. Si incluso para hablar de crítica social bastante dura no son para nada aptos para todo público.
The lyrics are clearly accompanied by excellently done music videos, very elaborate and yes, quite explicit most of the time. If even to talk about harsh social criticism they are not suitable for all audiences at all.
Drugs («Drogas») es una canción que recalca lo que acabo de comentar, el vídeo es explícito de una producción genial, cargado de significados en escenas que funcionan como puntos de anclaje para la persona que narra la letra de la canción, de hecho la escena donde se muestra la representación de la madre de Ronnie con la confrontación que tienen... Maravillosa.
Honestamente puedo dar muchos ejemplos de lo increíble que es el trabajo de esta banda. Podría colocar cada canción que tienen 😂
Drugs is a song that emphasizes what I have just commented, the video is explicit with a great production, loaded with meanings in scenes that function as anchor points for the person who narrates the story. Lyrics of the song, in fact the scene where the representation of Ronnie's mother is shown with the confrontation they have... Wonderful.
I can honestly give many examples of how amazing this band's work is. I could put every song they have 😂
La banda no se detiene en ese estilo, hacen incluso unas obras de arte orquestales en versiones re imaginadas de canciones anteriores o covers que son para llorar de lo increíbles que quedan. ¿No me crees? Sólo escucha:
The band doesn't stop in that style, they even make some orchestral works of art in re-imagined versions of previous songs or covers that are worth to cry for because of how incredible they are. You don't believe me? Just listen:

Con esas canciones (que son pocas realmente) demuestro que Falling in Reverse ciertamente no es lo común ni siquiera en el metal pero es una esperanza del género, puesto que tienen una imaginación asombrosa, toca temas relevantes con una producción a nivel musical y en general que honestamente hace que todo lo que publican sea una absoluta obra de arte
Falling in Reverse es odiada por algunos y adorada por otros, pero si eres fan del metal tienes que escucharla al menos una vez y darle una oportunidad. No creo que te decepciones 😉.
With these songs (which are actually few) I show that Falling in Reverse is certainly not common even in metal but it is a hope for the genre since they have an amazing imagination, they touch on relevant subjects with a high quality production on a musical level and in general. That honestly makes everything they put out an absolute work of art
Falling in Reverse is hated by some and adored by others, but if you're a metal fan you have to listen to it at least once and give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed 😉.

La música está en constante evolución, pero es lógico que uno se aferre a esa música que lo marcó a uno en su momento. Además con eso de los ciclos en la vida, en cualquier momento se pone de moda nuevamente 😁
Totalmente de acuerdo, de hecho estoy viendo un poco más de influencia del rock/metal en algunos artistas mainstream. Todo es cíclico al final, incluso la música.
