Church Choir Are Not Different From Secular Singers
Lets be honest, most Church Choir are not different from the likes of Naira Marley and other secular singers.
In as much as church choirs are integral to worship services, providing spiritual enrichment through music. However, I think some choirs blur the line between reverent worship and showy performances.
I see some things the choir do as irrelevant, things like Overemphasis on spectacle; like when a Music director become so concern about what the church congregation will think of the choir performance hereby making the choir members to wear elaborate costumes, do choreography while singing and dramatic stage lighting.
All these can shift the focus from spirituality to entertainment.
And the worst of It all is that some church choir keeps comparing themselves to others, prioritizing awards and recognition over worship. They want to blow! They want recognition!
What's the difference between them and secular singers?
Mind you I'm in full support of choir having musical excellence.

It's so important for church choirs to remember the heart of their mission. Rather than chasing flashy performances, they should focus on leading the congregation in heartfelt worship. Simple, sincere music can elevate the spiritual experience far more than elaborate shows. Ultimately, it's about serving, not seeking the spotlight.
Thank you for understanding my point
