No tengo ni siquiera un instrumento musical, pero soy amante de la música y no quería pasar por alto la oportunidad de participar en la iniciativa de mipiano.

De niña oía todos los días cómo mis dos vecinas jóvenes, Carola y Lucía, tocaban el piano, y se alternaban para hacerlo. Sabía perfectamente cuando era una o la otra. Un día el piano dejó de sonar, las muchachas se casaron y se fueron a otros lugares. El piano fue deteriorándose y las termitas acabaron con él. Fue una verdadera lástima, sonaba tan bien.

Pero el instrumento que más me fascina es la guitarra, siempre quise aprender a tocar. La guitarra era importante en todas las reuniones y viajes de nosotros de jóvenes. Cuando estudiaba en la Universidad de Kiev, cantaba en encuentros de estudiantes y me hacía acompañar por un compañero búlgaro que tocaba la guitarra. Sabía muy bien tocar las canciones cubanas y búlgaras. Me sentía muy realizada.

Entusiasmada por el reto, pensé que sería bonito ir a buscar amigos que tienen instrumentos musicales y así complementar este trabajo.

Claro que los encontré precisamente en un aula que tienen en la Casa de la Cultura del pueblo, donde practican cada día. Ellos guardan allí sus propios instrumentos, guitarras, bongos, tambores y contrabajo. Entonces podría decirse que esta es una colección que se encuentra a disposición también de los amantes de la música en Candelaria, entre los que me cuento, porque podemos asistir a sus presentaciones, organizadas por la institución cultural.

Se entusiasmaron tanto que hasta interpretaron una pieza de la autoría de uno de ellos. Me llamó mucho la atención el Tres, este se utiliza mucho en los guateques campesinos y arraigo de nuestro pueblo.

Me preguntaron si había tocado alguna vez una guitarra y respondí que sí. La guitarra de mi hija que tiene colgada en la pared de su cuarto cuando estoy en su casa, le limpio el polvo. Siento emoción al hacerlo, pues si la hubiese aprendido hoy sería músico y no economista.

Esto es todo lo que puedo ofrecer, mipiano, una colección amistosa y mi disposición de mostrar a quienes enriquecen la cultura candelariense.

Les comparto también esta pieza magistralmente interpretada por Leo Brouwer, un cubano que toca la guitarra con virtuosismo. Él es compositor y tiene muchísimos reconocimientos internacionales.

He was very good at playing Cuban and Bulgarian songs. I felt very fulfilled.

Excited by the challenge, I thought it would be nice to look for friends who have musical instruments and thus complement this work.

Of course, I found them in a classroom they have in the Cultural Centre in the village, where they practice every day. They keep their own instruments there, guitars, bongos, drums and double bass. So, we could say that this is a collection that is also available to music lovers in Candelaria, myself included, because we can attend their performances, organized by the cultural institution.

They were so enthusiastic that they even performed a piece composed by one of them. I was very struck by the Tres, which is used a lot in the peasant guateques and is deeply rooted in our town.

They asked me if I had ever played a guitar, and I said yes. My daughter's guitar hangs on the wall of her room when I'm at home and I dust it off. I feel a thrill in doing so, because if I had learned it, today I would be a musician and not an economist.

This is all I can offer, mipiano, a friendly collection and my willingness to show those who enrich the culture of Candelaria.
