Portraits to strangers in a rock festival
Last weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to work as a photographer at a music festival in my city. I got to capture some really cool shots!
As many of you know, I specialize in portrait photography, whether i know them or not. So, at this festival, I made it my goal to photograph as many people as possible. And let me tell you, most of the people I photographed had a unique style that really caught my eye!
The first photo I took was of the event host on stage. He had a super cool, classic 80s-90s look.
El fin de semana que pasó tuve la oportunidad de asistir como fotografo a un festival de música en mi ciudad y tuve el placer de hacer unas fotografias muy bonitas!
Los que me conocen saben que me dedico a fotografiar personas y es lo que mejor se me da, sean conocidas o desconocidas, asi que en este festival me puse como meta fotografiar la mayor cantidad de personas posibles y la mayoria de las personas que fotografié tienen alguna caracteristica que los hace llamar la atencion!
La primera fotografia que hice fué del presentador del evento mientras estaba en la tarima, este chico tenia un look muy cool, clasico de los años 80-90's.
Since it was a rock festival, there were lots of people with that rock vibe, like this guy with the green hair. He looked awesome!
Era un evento de rock asi que habian muchas personas con ese estilo rockero como este chico que con su cabello verde se veia muy cool!
These next two are a couple who totally coordinated their outfits!
Los siguiente son una pareja y combinaron su ropa para hacer match!
These three ladies were promoters for the event. They were advertising Zulia beer.
Las siguientes tres chicas son promotoras del evento, estaban haciendo publicidad para la cerveza Zulia.
To take these photos, I'd simply approach people and say, "Hi! How are you doing? Can I take you a photo ? I'm working on a photography content."
And 9 out of 10 people said yes! Everyone was in a great mood and felt comfortable being photographed. I got permission to share their photos and i sent them all a copy.
Para tomar estas fotos simplemente me les acercaba a las personas y les decia: Buenas tardes ¿como estan? ¿les puedo tomar una foto? es para un contenido de fotografia que estoy haciendo.
Y 9 de cada 10 personas dijeron que si!! todos estaban en muy buen humor y se sentian en confianza para ser fotografiados, todos me dieron permiso para publicar sus fotografias y a todos se las envié.

This girl had a really cool rockstar style. Her red hair was the perfect touch!
La siguiente chica tenia un estilo rockero muy cool, su cabello rojo hacia muy buena combinación!
Her boyfriend had an interesting rockstar style too!
Su novio tambien tenia un estilo de rockero muy interesante!
I was drawn to this next girl because she looked so cool with all her tattoos.
La siguiente chica me llamó la atencion porque se veia muy cool con todos sus tatuajes!
And finally, this beautiful dark-skinned girl with curly hair and flawless skin. She didn't even need makeup!
Y para finalizar esta chica de piel morena super linda, cabello churco y con un cutis tan impecable que ni siquiera necesitaba usar maquillaje!
it was such a great experience getting to meet and photograph all these people while enjoying live music. I had a blast!

Fue una muy buena experiencia para mi poder conocer y fotografiar a todas estas personas mientras a la vez podia disfrutar de buena musica en vivo, la verdad la pasé super bien en este dia.

Did you use a flash with some of these? Once again the lighting is so nice.
Actually in the only one i used flash is the 2nd photo of the host in the stage... the others are only with natural light!
The secret is that i made these photos in the hours of sunset - blue hour so they dont have a strong light, and i used 1.8 - 2/F so i could get a lot of light in the photo
Oh wow! So you're really shooting against the clock there.
Do you use a tripod with 1.8/2F or is it generally okay to hold by hand but still get faces in focus?
That was my feeling hahaha you nailed it, i had to shoot as many people i could before the night!!
I never use a tripod :P i usually put the shutter speed at a1/125 or more and play with the ISO to get enought light
