This week in Vibes we travel to the past, specifically to the 30's and 40's, and for me there is no better way to return to this community than with music as beautiful as the one created in those years.

Today I bring you the song “Madrigal” by Felipe Rosario Goyco, better known as Don Felo. According to what I was able to research, Madrigal was written in the late 40's and its style and essence takes us perfectly back to that golden age of romantic music. It is a deep, elegant and emotional bolero, one of those that need nothing more than a good voice and a guitar to thrill the heart.

On a personal level, this song touches very close to my heart. My grandmother loved it, and I can't listen to it without thinking of her. I grew up in a bohemian family, where boleros, trios and love songs were always present, and thanks to that, I learned to value the strength of a well-written lyric and the passion with which those feelings were sung. I love that this week we can bring these types of songs to the community, because beyond the rhythm or the era, there are emotions that are simply timeless. I hope you like my version.

Esta semana en Vibes nos toca viajar al pasado, específicamente a los años 30 y 40, y para mí no hay mejor manera de volver a esta comunidad que con música tan hermosa como la creada en esos años.

Hoy les traigo el tema “Madrigal” de Felipe Rosario Goyco, mejor conocido como Don Felo. Según lo que pude investigar, Madrigal fue escrita a finales de los años 40 y su estilo y esencia nos remonta perfectamente a esa época dorada de la música romántica. Es un bolero profundo, elegante y emotivo, de esos que no necesitan más que una buena voz y una guitarra para estremecer el corazón.

A nivel personal, esta canción me toca fibras muy íntimas. A mi abuela le encantaba, y no puedo escucharla sin pensar en ella. Crecí en una familia de bohemios, donde los boleros, tríos y canciones de amor estaban siempre presentes, y gracias a eso, aprendí a valorar la fuerza de una letra bien escrita y la pasión con la que se cantaban esos sentimientos. Me encanta que esta semana podamos traer este tipo de canciones a la comunidad, porque más allá del ritmo o la época, hay emociones que simplemente son eternas. Espero que les guste mi versión.
