Dream a Little dream of me- cover by @maiasun84 Vibes Web3 Music Competition week 36
Hello to all the members of this musical family. For this week 36 I propose you the cover of Dream a Little dream of me, a song whose lyrics were written by Gus Kahn and was released by Doris Day a long time ago. I must say that it is my second favorite song of all and I always find it a pleasure to try to sing it.
I was hesitating between this and other possible ones for my participation in this round, but as I have a blues and jazz soul I was overcome with emotion and so I bring it to you in the hope that you can enjoy this classic.
This song has been covered by many of the greatest vocal jazz voices, among them Cass Elliot, Anita Harris, Ozzy Nelson, but I owe my taste for it to that of my two musical loves: Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. However, to record this cover I used the track of Michael Bublé's version.
It is a song that speaks of love, a request to be dreamed of amidst the idyllic condition of romance if only for a brief moment. It speaks of the need to belong, to commit and above all to be that constant and necessary refuge for the other person. As for the vocal performance, it implies modulations and different approaches given the characteristics of jazz and blues, as well as a demanding emotional delivery and deep connection on the part of whoever interprets it. This is how I understand it and try to make it my own.

Para esta semana 36 les propongo el cover de Dream a Little dream of me, una canción cuya letra obedece a la autoría de Gus Kahn y que fuera estrenada por Doris Day hace muchísimo tiempo. Debo decir que es mi segunda canción favorita entre todas y que siempre me resulta placentero intentar cantarla.
Estuve dudando entre esta y otras posibles para mi participación en esta ronda, pero como tengo un alma de blues y jazz me ganó la emoción y por ello la traigo en espera de que puedan disfrutar de este clásico.
Este tema ha sido versionado por muchas de las más grandes voces del jazz vocal, entre ellos Cass Elliot, Anita Harris, Ozzy Nelson, pero mi gusto por ella lo debo al de mis dos amores musicales: Ella Fitzgerald y Louis Armstrong. Sin embargo, para grabar este cover utilicé la pista de la versión de Michael Bublé.
Es una canción que habla de amor, una petición de ser soñados en medio de la condición idílica del romance aunque sea por un breve momento. Habla de la necesidad de pertenecer, comprometerse y sobre todo ser ese refugio constante y necesario para la otra persona. en cuanto al desempeño vocal implica modulaciones y diferentes enfoques dada las características propias del jazz y el blues, además de una exigente entrega emotiva y conexión profunda por parte de quien la interprete. Así la entiendo e intento hacerla mía.
