HIVE OPEN MIC WEEK || THEME: COMEDIA MUSICAL: KA ESI LEE ONYEISI OCHE BY MIKE EJAGJA|(COVER)

Once again, I salute you all in this beautiful community. It's a great honour to be part of this initiative towards world peace whilst doing what I love (music). I am even more excited today because of the unique and exciting themr we have for this week which is comedia musical. What ingenuity!

I am super excited about this theme because it made me to think long and hard about which decision I was to make as regards the choice of song that would suit the theme. To be specific, I was searching for a song that not only has comical content but also deep didactic message. It was not an easy task but it was worth the time because in the end, I recalled of a song that my father used to play hundreds of times when I was younger. This song is one of the legendary classics in our country especially in the Eastern region. It is a song of yhe Famous Mike EJAGHA and the song is titled, KA ESI LEE ONYEISI OCHE which means "HOW THE CHAIRMAN WAS SOLD.

Mike EJAGHA's songs always follow the pattern of telling stories while he sings and plays guitar.
In this song, he tells the STORYory of a tortoise that wanted to marry the daughter of the king. The king asked him to bring an elephant as the bride price, hoping that he would go away since the elephant is far bigger than him.

He (tortoise), decived the elephant, telling him that he had been invited to be the chairman at a big feast at the palace of the king.

The elephant was excited and set off with the tortoise, but he was slow. So the tortise advised the elephant to put a rope to his neck and the he (the tortise can hold on to it, so as to catch up with him, since he walks faster.

Now the tortoise has d3cieved the elephant into a rope. First step done hahaha. When they approached the palace, the tortoise shouted in a loud voice "My king, I bring you an éléphant"! The éléphant asked him angrily, "what do you mean?" and he decieved him again by saying, "no my friend I said you should live long".

Meanwhile, the guards of the king came out hurriedly and the tortoise gave them the rope and they took the elephant hostage.

What a sad and funny story. Well, this story had been used to teach children about being careful of fake friends who can easily betray.

I practiced long hours to be able to play this folklore style of guitar and I sang along, skipping the part of the story, since I already narrated it here.

I sincerely hope you enjoy my folklore presentation!!**
