Hi beautiful people of Afri-tunes . I Welcome you all to my blog. It has been a while since I've not posted on this amazing platform. I am glad to be back here again and to be able to continue to celebrate and share music. As I always say get ready with your dancing shoes because it's always a vibe.
Today, as always I bring you a deeply African oriented song. I have known this song for very long but I had never paid attention to the lyrics. Well, I don't even understand it. The title of the song is, Iri Owunana Tamuno, which translates to O lord hear our cry. As a Mater of fact, I used to sing this song as a welcome song in the years past. I have also used it as a special number presentation in a concert
From the title, one can already tell that it is a song of cry to the lord, asking for his assistance. Since he is the lord and creator of the world, he is the best person to come to our assistance, especially during times of adversity. From the title, one may think it is a very solemn and sorrowful song, but for some reason, it is quite inviting and lively. When I knew the meaning, I was surprised.
