Hello Hive Open Mic family! It’s nice to be here again for another week of music. This week’s theme — Love at First Sight — made me think of those small moments that catch you off guard. Not the dramatic kind, but the simple ones where someone’s presence just feels warm and familiar right from the start.

Hola familia del Hive Open Mic! Qué bueno estar aquí otra vez para otra semana de música. El tema de esta semana — Amor a Primera Vista — me hizo pensar en esos momentos pequeños que te toman por sorpresa. No los dramáticos, sino esos simples donde la presencia de alguien se siente cálida y familiar desde el principio.

For this week, I chose “Woman” by Simi. I’ve always liked how the song highlights the beauty and strength of a woman without overdoing it. It’s gentle, honest, and has that calm feeling that draws you in immediately — which fits well with the theme.

Para esta semana elegí “Woman” de Simi. Siempre me ha gustado cómo la canción resalta la belleza y la fuerza de una mujer sin exagerar. Es suave, honesta y tiene esa tranquilidad que te engancha de inmediato — algo que encaja bien con el tema.

I went with a simple acoustic style again. I wanted it to feel natural, just voice and guitar, without too much going on. Sometimes that’s enough to let a song breathe and say what it needs to say.

La hice en un estilo acústico sencillo otra vez. Quise que se sintiera natural, solo voz y guitarra, sin demasiadas cosas alrededor. A veces eso basta para que la canción respire y diga lo que quiere decir.

The theme also made me think about how love at first sight isn’t always romantic. It can be a moment, a look, a gesture — something small that stays with you. Music has that same effect sometimes. One song, one sound, and suddenly there’s a connection.

El tema también me hizo pensar que el amor a primera vista no siempre es romántico. Puede ser un momento, una mirada, un gesto — algo pequeño que se queda contigo. La música a veces hace lo mismo. Una canción, un sonido, y de repente hay una conexión.
