“The Clone” is a Brazilian telenovela by Glória Pérez, released in 2001. It’s long, but very interesting, with 221 episodes that kept me on the edge of my seat thanks to its complex plot and diverse characters with traits that really caught my attention. This telenovela tackled topics that sparked—and still spark—controversy, especially human cloning. It has always impressed me because I ask myself the million-dollar question: what happens to the soul? Does it remain in the stem cell, or does it fragment into little pieces of soul?

Perhaps there will be an army of clones, and the average person can’t even imagine it. It’s worth noting that the show also references destiny and the meeting of souls. Although societies are shaped by paradigms, stereotypes, social classes, cultures, and customs, nothing has been able to overcome love. When the spark that ignites love and passion is ignited, nothing can control it. Well, love is love, period. The story of Jade and Lucas is very beautiful, but very complicated.

It’s worth noting that every time they decided to take the plunge and face everything head-on, something significant would happen that drove them apart. Many things separated them, but in the end, just like in any fairy tale, they reunite, and Lucas looks her in the eyes and says:

“Maktub (it is written)”

A lack of love and a marriage of convenience are things that, even if some people don’t want to accept it, affect the children. Above all, using them as a shield or for blackmail. This does affect them, and they tend to become individuals with low self-esteem. This was another theme that really struck me. The story of Mel Ferraz and Xande is one of the best in the soap opera. Lucas and Maisa’s daughter suffers a lot and turns to drugs. I also liked the central storyline and the conflict between humanity and science, involving Deusa, the mother of Diogo’s clone, and his uncle, Dr. Albieri.

Later, Telemundo released a version, but I didn’t like it because the leads didn’t gel at all. I was fascinated by the soundtrack, and this week I selected three songs from the Brazilian telenovela “El Clon” to participate in threeTuneTuesday with @ablaze.

“El clon” es una telenovela brasileña de Glória Pérez, lanzada en el año 2001. Es larga, pero muy interesante, con 221 episodios que me mantuvieron en suspenso por la trama tan compleja y personajes diversos con características que me llamaron la atención. Esta telenovela abordó temas que causaron y todavía en la actualidad causan controversia, sobre todo el de la clonación humana. A mí me ha impresionado siempre porque me hago la pregunta de las mil lochas: ¿qué pasa con el alma? ¿Será que se queda en la célula madre o se fragmenta en pedacitos de alma?
Quizás habrá ejército de clones y el ser humano común ni se lo imagina. Cabe destacar que también se hace referencia al destino y al encuentro de las almas. Aunque las sociedades están plasmadas de paradigmas, estereotipos, clases sociales, culturas, costumbres, no hay nada que haya podido vencer al amor. Cuando se produce la chispa que enciende el amor y la pasión, nada lo puede controlar. Pues, el amor es amor y punto y final. La historia de Jade y Lucas es muy bonita, pero muy complicada.
Cabe destacar que cada vez que se decidían a dar el paso y enfrentar todo, algo importante sucedía que los separaba. Muchas cosas los separaron, pero al final, como todo cuento de hadas, se reencuentran y Lucas la mira a los ojos y le dice:
-"Maktub ( esta escrito)"-
La falta de amor y el matrimonio por compromiso son algo que, aunque algunas personas no quieran aceptarlo, afecta a los hijos. Sobre todo, utilizarlos como escudo y chantaje. Esto sí los afecta y tienden a ser individuos con baja autoestima. Este fue otro tema que me impresionó mucho. La historia de Mel Ferraz y Xande es una de las mejores de la telenovela. La hija de Lucas y Maisa sufre mucho y se mete en las drogas. También me gustó la historia central y el conflicto entre el ser humano y la ciencia, donde están involucrados Deusa, la madre del clon de Diogo, y el tío, el doctor Albieri.
Después Telemundo lanzó una versión, pero a mí no me gustó porque los protagonistas no pegaban ni con soldimix. A mí me fascinó la banda sonora y esta semana seleccioné tres canciones de la telenovela brasileña “El Clon” para participar en el threeTuneTuesday con @ablaze. ¡Suenala DJ!

I’m a sentimental person, and this song is special to me—it brings back so many memories. It must truly be wonderful to find love—and for love to find you—in such a way that time stands still.

“Mentira” is another one of my favorites; it’s the song by Maisa and Lucas. A marriage full of lies. It was released in 2001 on the album Intenso.

From the very beginning, Maisa knew that Lucas didn't love her, yet she insisted on a marriage in which she wasted the best years of her life.

“Sin ti” is a song by MDO, released in 2000 on the album Subir al cielo. It’s the theme song for Mel and Xandre—for me, the most powerful part of this soap opera. A girl throws herself off a cliff because her parents have abandoned her. Xandre’s love helped her pull through. Friends of #Hive, for love, you’re capable of anything.

Dan inicio a la magistral telenovela brasileña “El Clon”, donde vemos los lindos paisajes del desierto de Marruecos y la población de la ciudad de Ouarzazate. Además de varias localidades en Río de Janeiro, en Brasil. Es una telenovela donde se entrelazan dos culturas totalmente opuestas, pero donde el amor y la música coinciden para hacer de esta telenovela una belleza que quedó para la historia. Amigos, #ThreeTuneTuesday. Inicio mis tres canciones con la canción de la pareja que da vida a esta telenovela, la de Jade y Lucas, conocida como “Tan solo por amor”.
El famoso cantante y violinista brasileño Marcus Viana es el compositor de la canción “Tan solo por amor”. Se me estruja el corazón cuando suena y de verdad amar sí vale la pena y también correr riesgos.

¡Wuao! Hace magia con el violín; cada nota es una belleza. Excelente interpretación y una potente voz la de Marcus Viana. Soy sentimental y esta canción es especial para mi y trae muchos recuerdos. En realidad, debe ser maravilloso encontrar el amor y que el amor te encuentre de tal manera que el tiempo se detenga.



“Mentira” es otra de mis preferidas, es el tema de Maisa y Lucas. Un matrimonio lleno de mentiras. Esta fue lanzada en el año 2001, en el álbum: “Intenso”.

Desde el inicio, Masa sabía que Lucas no la amaba e insistió en un matrimonio donde ella perdió los mejores años de su vida.



“Sin ti” es una canción de MDO, lanzada en el año 2000 en el álbum: “Subir al cielo”. Este es el tema de Mel y Xandre, para mí lo más impactante de esta telenovela. Una chica que se tira al barranco por el desamor de sus padres. El amor de Xandre la ayudó a salir. Amigos de #Hive por amor se es capaz de todo.

Los padres no se imaginan lo que les causa a sus hijos el vivir entre dos personas peleando y echándose la culpa unos a otros. Sin embargo, los que no son culpables pagan sus platos rotos.
